Lol so it is!! Ah well, I'm sure it won't take long before someone copies them mate. Everything else I've had done has been copied! But that's now in the hands of a solicitor, so I'll shut up.
I think it's safe to say that this sticker, is THE most expensive sticker I've ever bought @€240 each!! I got given 2 and a handshake to say, 'welcome to the club'. Lol! It will adorn the cup with pride. 😂
Honestly mate, me and James were laughing for the entire journey home. Even if we'd tried, we couldn't have even planned the trip to go as wrong as it did!
I didn't have the right attitude on Saturday or Sunday mate I'll be honest. As far as I was concerned the cup was going.
Now I've had...
There's more than 2 of us in this story mate!! Lol!! As far as medals go, there's at least 10 people that deserve a medal - this is including the guys back at the hotel who helped and offered us both a lift back to the uk!
It's the worst I've known it in 12yrs mate, but good things always come to an end unfoetunately.
Nice one mate that's very much appreciated!! So are you going this year? If you are drop me a text - I've got a 9 lap ticket that's got 6 left on it that I'll be selling.
Yeah without a shadow of doubt mate.
Dunno tbh and it's gonna be a few months before I can get it opened up to have a look inside.
As for a return to the ring - NEVER again for TF. This year was the worst TF I've ever done, so that's it's now for me. I will consider doing a trackday there...
Honestly mate, me and James were f**king howling with laughter on the way back, as neither of us had any idea you don't like flying!! And you never said a f**king word until you were in Frankfurt for breakfast!! 😂
^^^^^^^This folks, is the attitude of a legend.
If it was easy everyone would be doing it, right? Lol!
Yeah he's one of the VERY best mate, as are all the others that went well out of their way to help out.
Well I've had better, I'll be honest! 😂
Right then, where to f**king start!!!!!!
Well here's the full version of the fun weekend me and @BIGASH have just had.
I travelled to London, met up with James and loaded the cup on to his trailer. Text message from eurotunnel - 2hr delay on the tunnel. Great.
James' 535D has only recently...
Gents I'm locking the thread now until I get back. What started off as a bad weekend has just been compounded. The cars fine, and more importantly I'm fine too, but there will be no more laps for me.
When I'm home and sorted I'll re-open the thread and put up a write up.
Thanks for all the...
I'll save it for when I'm back gents, but needless to say it involved a bmw engine going bang, a 6hr channel tunnel delay, a ferry crossing instead, then a long uncomfortable drive over in the cup instead!
I've done a sighting lap and went straight into the 8:40's - not bad considering I was...
This is about as good as it gets mate, as I don't have that many pics of it in that stage. You'll have to cut the ends off the end of the dash support mate to get the tubes in.
Ok, so 10 points if you can see what's changed here: So the car is now sporting it's Nurburgring geo setup - basically slightly raised ride height (minimal tbh) and very aggressive toe. I usually adjust the toe when I get there, but seeing as it's going on a trailer for 75% of the journey it was...
I couldn't say mate as I don't know how much the cryo treatment is as I've never had it done before. Plus there's absolutely zero point doing the treatment on old worn components.
Taken off google:
A cryogenic treatment is the process of treating workpieces to cryogenictemperatures (i.e. below −190 °C (−310 °F)) in order to remove residual stresses and improve wear resistance on steels.
Lose a gear = drop down a gear mate. A Quaife or the pms items are maintenance free...
It's important to remember that these gearboxes are 'splash fed' with oil to the gears, shafts and bearings. Any proper gearbox will have its lifeblood pumped through it to these vital areas and components.
The faster you spin the shaft up, the greater the need for oil to be where it's needed...
The casing can be strengthened, and you could have the gears shot peened or cryo treated. My opinion is that the bearings will fail before the gears as I'm still yet to see a box that's stripped the teeth off a gear.
A lsd in a jc5, combined with good quality oil (not the Renault stuff...
