    purchased megane 225 pistons

He did and got about 305bhp iirc Keith. Then he sold it shortly afterwards, or put it up for sale at least!

Mr Plums Progress.. Clio 182 Turbo!

It'll be the torque that kills them mate not the bhp. Looking box fresh there @Christ Almighty!! I can't recommend scoff @efi highly enough tbh. He's one of life's nice guys and has proper enthusiasm for what he does.

Possible gearbox leak fix..... seems to work!

In that case 1.5hrs. Lol! It only takes me 10 minutes to strip them anyway.
  5. NorthloopCup

Possible gearbox leak fix..... seems to work!

You need to open the box up mate to replace them, so if you've had experience of opening a box up, it's around 1hrs work.

Possible gearbox leak fix..... seems to work!

R82 01 048 885 is the part number for the seal and bushes, and they're £15:33 + vat for the kit mate.

Possible gearbox leak fix..... seems to work!

Unfortunately I think once the oil is warmed up fully, or even overheated, the sealant won't be doing much of a job. Those TND kits are just way to hit and miss with the tension of the o rings as well for my liking.

    Inlet manifold

No mate they don't. Fit it dry and you'll be fine. Rtv is the work of a bodging t**t imo

Possible gearbox leak fix..... seems to work!

Only way to fix it properly is to replace the seal and the bushes that the selector shaft actually pivots in.

    Gearbox

If you can wait another couple of weeks and get the box over to me, I'll do a rebuild on it mate. Can't do anything atm, as I've got enough jc5's to last me a lifetime! Lol

sonny172cup "track car to race car project"

Excellent news sonny!!! This just goes to show that ktec no longer deserve the shite that's been thrown at them. Sean is a legend as well tbf. He's on with a little project for me with a gen90 currently too.

    F4R Main Studs

Yeah. Use arp! Lol! That's as much insight into that as I'm ever going to have. I'm on standard head bolts as well. Good enough for R3 maxi - good enough for me.

Gearbox oil cooler pump and system now primed up and no leaks. Getting good at this now! Pms shifter has been fitted today. I thought these were difficult to setup?!?! Piece of piss tbqfh! Must be beginners luck eh! Not much left to sort now, although the undershield is having some...

I only rebuild boxes mate, I don't have any that I can supply unfortunately.

    F4R Main Studs

Just buy some high tensile (12.9) cap heads to replace the original main bearing bolts. That's what I've got on mine, and it's withstanding 8krpm.

Engine breather plate - welding up

Yes mate. The pms manifold I have dictated this.

Engine breather plate - welding up

It's only modified in the fact that I've changed the position of the breather take off mate. Otherwise it's just a standard plate.

    Inlet valve on a 182 same as a 172?

I'd have to dig them out mate, but £30 delivered? @alexadams182

    Inlet valve on a 182 same as a 172?

Most certainly are mate. They're a used set from a spare 172 head I had. All straight and true.

    Inlet valve on a 182 same as a 172?

I've got a set of inlet valves @alexadams182 if you're interested?

Rear wheel sticks out more after a rear beam change

Yes mate, but be warned, you'll need to be very careful when you move it as it'll be very easy to go to far, or alter the geo.
  24. NorthloopCup

Rear wheel sticks out more after a rear beam change

It's more a case of that not all cars are the same mate tbh, so the location points can be in a different position slightly. If you look at the alignment spec for the rear end of one of these cars, you'll see what I mean. The tolerances are f**king ridiculous. Lol
  25. NorthloopCup

Rear wheel sticks out more after a rear beam change

Yes mate that's the ones. Lubricate the living s**t out of them before you try and loosen them, otherwise they'll spin and you'll make your life miserable!!

Rear wheel sticks out more after a rear beam change

I'd genuinely be surprised if the disc is the cause of the problem, but it's a possibility. You'll only know the answer to that one my swapping the discs around. It could just need the location points adjusting though.

Flare plate should read, flat plate mate! Typo on my part.

Engine breather plate - welding up

I have the Renault gasket on mine mate - there's a reason why they fitted one. The ONLY way that oil can get in that upstand part is if the engine is breathing. They all breath a small amount anyway, mainly from the vacuum effect tbh, but a small amount of oil in there is the norm. Yeah you'll...
  30. NorthloopCup

Engine breather plate - welding up

Yeah that's the one I'm meaning mate. Also, there should be a gasket on the breather plate (there is on 182's and 197's), so if this isn't there it will allow the plate to sit lower. This in turn will reduce the performance of that seal. Yeah with the upstand blanked off then no vapours will...
