Breaking cover......*AG content from page 45*

Ok so it's time for an update. Last weekend kermit was loaded up on to the back of my mates flatbed and taken up to EFI Parts in Runcorn. It was time for Scoff to work his mapping magic and get to the bottom of the intermittent starting dramas. Mapping was originally booked for the following...

@incy-spider which one have you got mate?

    Remove crankshaft

Have you got the crank locking pin for when you do a cambelt? If you have, fit that mate. Otherwise, just give it a damn good thrashing. I've never known one that hasn't started spinning relatively easy once they've been given a tickle tbh.

    Remove crankshaft

Nah don't worry about it mate. If it's stuck that fast that you need to stop the crank spinning, you'll more than likely damage the pulley anyway tbh.

    Remove crankshaft

Seen this loads of times. Get a blunt pry bar or chisel etc, and place it in the half round where the cambelt teeth sit. Give it a couple of taps on the end of the pry bar with a hammer and it'll start to spin free. Spray some wd40 or the like where it sits on the end of the crank and it'll...

Burpspeed Version 2: Race Car Build

If you don't mind replacing the sensor then it's worth trying it solid mounted first mate. I'll be revving to 8k, so I did mine the way in the pics.

Burpspeed Version 2: Race Car Build

Put it on a fly lead so to speak, so don't put it straight into the sandwich plate for instance. This is how I did mine:

Burpspeed Version 2: Race Car Build

Good decision Mr H. Don't mount the oil pressure sensor solid if it's a spa gauge though. The harmonics off the engine will kill the sensor.

    Steering rack change

If you remove all the pipes off the steering rack, they will pull out from the wheel arch without the need to drop the subframe.

@George@RTR_Parts has some good advice for bedding in ds1.11's but I'm fucked if I can find it now.

Breaking cover......*AG content from page 45*

All I do is 10 medium stops from 60-20, then drive for 5 mins normally without using the brakes. Then it's 10 heavy stops from 80-10 but never stopping fully. Then, same thing as above. Drive normal for 5 mins without using the brakes. After that I use the brakes reasonably lightly, then leave...

I've only had ds2500's so I have nothing to compare them too other than yellowstuff. The yellowstuff survived half a lap of the 'Ring before they overheated. The only good thing that came from that was finding out that I could take one particular corner at 110mph. Lol! Not like I had any choice...

Cheers mate. I don't know what they'll look like after a track session with the ds1.11 pads. I was previously on ds2500's and tbh, they were pretty much dust free!

    Replacement engine rattle with video

Could be the lifters needing to fully jack themselves up again. What oil you running it on? How long has it been sat as well? Have you replaced the spark plugs? If not, check they're tight as that hissing noise could be one about to make a bid for freedom.

Try removing the loop pipe or making up 2 separate pipes that are open to atmosphere. It could be hydraulic pressure building up.

I'm on vibratechnics mounts mate and I rate them tbh. No experience of the pms items, but they'll be good as well.

    Budget coilover or not?

Which one drops it the most? I can never remember tbh! Lol! One of them hardly drops the car at all, so I'm assuming it's a drop you want as well?
