Might sound crazy but try cleaning it through with some clean water and let it dry out again. Ive dropped mobile phones in all sorts before but by giving it a good wash in clean water and a drying it out they usually work fine after.
MO's hands down in either silver or anthracite. Ultralegra's dont even suit clio's especially in black. To be quite honest black wheels looks crap on 99% of cars.
Get your standard one lightened and blanced then, Cost £80 usually. But if its not done by someone decent you risk it exploding, this happened on my mates 205 gti and it blew the gearbox the pieces and made such a mess of the car he ended up dumping it.
Pro's: Clutchless gearshifts, more power to the wheels, better ratio's
Cons: expensive when they go wrong, harder to use, make the mistake of selcting 1st instead of 3rd when coming down the box and its going in weather you like it or not = byebye engine.
Buy a sequential :)
This is what Helix do with there clutch kits. They use a Valeo pressure plate that has a higher clamping force but has the same dimensions as the Renault unit. I found this out when i ordered the Clio cup/Sadev kit they do and it came down with what looked like a bog standard pressure plate. But...
From TTV racing components was about £270. Yeah they are slightly different, cup racer flywheels are modified to 58 tooth trigger for the marelli ECU where as standard is 59 tooth. You need to get the 59th tooth (the fat one) machined down to the size of a normal tooth to get the correct TDC...
Ive just fitted a 3.8kg billet flywheel to the cup racer, makes a nice difference. Quite an expensive mod for not a massive gain in performance but it deffinatly makes a difference.
Easiest way to tell without taking anything apart is to take the oil cap off and shine a torch inside the head. Look at the cam lobe, standard renault cams have lobes which are not integral to the cam they are 9 piece: 8 seperate lobes and 1 shaft the lobes are pressed on. If they are catcams or...
Beleive it or not a garage over here in Jersey sold a pink convertable metro just like that for £3495 albeit very mint and with only 6,000 miles but still 3.5k fair play to that dealer lol
Hi Guys
How much would you say a 182 cup racer shell with cage would be worth? New half way through last season in 2006 never been crashed and converted to RHD.
I intend to keep my cup racer for the forseeable future. Im going to upgrade it over the next 4 years to the spec i want, by then i will be 25 and wanting to move out and buy a flat so i wont be able to upgrade to something 4WD. Im not going to give up Rallying or Hill climbing for a very long...
Ok thanks for the replys. Ive had a look under the seat and i cant find one, it is really bloody awkward with the carpet in though. Could anyone tell me the exact location of it?
Hi, Just looking to find out where the VIN numbers are on a mk2 clio. I know there is one on the dash. one on a sticker on the lower part of the B pillar. But is there one actually stamped into the shell?
Thanks
Mike
I think i drove it in as far as it would go.. Are you not ment to do this? With all other cars and bikes ive owned you allways drive them in to the stop at the back.
Ill get a new coil and try that then for the spark issue. I need a spare anyway so if its not that then its all good.
As for the parts i bought all the parts brandnew from renault. replaced all seals, core plugs, bolts, dephaser bolt cover etc. Im pretty damn sure i fitted the seal with the...
Hi Guys,
Went to fire up my cup racer today after having replacing the cams and the timing belt. And now there oil is pissing out of the dephaser pulley seal, I fitted a brand new seal when i changed the cams and i was careful when fitting the seal and dephaser pulley so as to not damage the...
If he has the receipt from Renault for the shell all the car needs to have is a VIC check to be put back on the road. Why its being registered as a 1.2 i dont know. Sounds more like the 172 cup was a Cat B so no longer has a log book hence them using the log book from a 1.2. If that is the case...
Found this on ebay, looks like a bargain to me.
