Mine was exactly the same when i did my engine last week. When i took the tools i borrowed back to Renault i spoke to one of the technicians and he said he has never done an f4r where the cam locking tool just slots in allways takes a little fiddling. He said it was due to the play in the...
Super is a waste of time on the road. The only time i use super is before a hill climb or a sprint, i run one tank through before hand then put in as much as i need for that event. If your just driving to work of the shops i really dont see the point.
Tbh you wont get a decent one much cheaper than that. The K-tec one is a helix so very good. http://www.mardigras.co.uk/ are the main supplier of helix clutches, I bought my cup racer one from there cost me around £413 but i didnt pay vat as i live in Jersey
Just done the cambelt on my 172's engine. I borrowed the 3 tools needed from my Renault dealer and followed the Renault guide to the letter. But after removing the cam locking tool, turning the motor over a few time to make sure the belt is tensioned properly i found that to get the locking tool...
Not sure it has that inlet tbh. The work was done atleast 2-3 years ago, and i dont think AWT were doing those inlets then. The guy that had the work done said it was 212bhp but its sounding more and more like its crap lol.
You might know the car Fred. Its a car from Jersey the previous owner is a friend of mine his name is Artur, He said you did some stuff to the car its silver got a yozza sport sticker on the bootlid and a carbon bonnet.
Going to see a 172 later that has had a ported head and cams and matched inlets fitted. The work was done by Angel works a couple of years ago and apparantly puts out 212bhp the receipts for the work are there but he has lost the rolling road graph. Does this power output sound right? or is the...
Thinking of getting one of there Aluminium crank pulleys while i have the engine out of the cup car. Does anyone have any experiance of them?
Ive noticed the standard one has a rubber damper in it, but the prima one doesnt. Is this actually needed? i dont want to buy one then have issues...
Does anyone know what the rear suspension leverage ratios are for when the springs is mounted in the normal posistion and for when using coilovers?
Thanks
Mike.
Was just about to torque my dephaser pully back up onto the cam when i noticed the pulley had a small amount of play in it when trying to rotate it. Is this normal?
By slam pannel do you mean the detachable part? or the parts that hold the headlights?
The reason im thinking of doing this is i want to build myself a proper shell with a weld in cage then rebuild the rally car into eventually. I can get a 3 door phase 1 for about £500 over here but a phase 2...
Hi,
What is actually required to change the front end of a phase 1 to phase 2 bodywork? Ive used the search function but there is no thread that actually gives you a black and white answer.
I know the obvious things like different bonnet, bumper, wings, lights, grill, archliners etc. but...
My 64ft time for my cup racer is 2.64. On rally tyres using a closed part of the public highway our club uses for sprints. I reckon i can get it down to high 2.4's low 2.5's but its not a drag strip so there isnt as much grip. On the same day there was a 270hp mk2 escort rally car doing 2.3's so...
Re: Would you but this z4?
The car will be fine aslong as it has had its its services, but do you really want to fork out £7.5k for a car that already has 100,000 miles? It would have to be outstanding condition with FBMWSH for me to pay that.
What spring rates are you running front and rear in tarmac spec? Your car looks likes it has a nice setup and id like a decent starting point to get my converted cup racer handling more like a rally car.
Id like to see an insurance assesor tell the difference between standard springs and eibach pro's. There OE on some cars now anyway. Are they going to start making all people with old cars where the springs have sagged buy new springs as there car is not the correct ride height anymore? ofcourse...
