Just had a quick look on k-tecs website and the bolt spacing appears to be the same on a 1*2/197. 7 bolts secure it to the crank on both.

My 197 crank looks like this one.

Never paid any attention tbh mate. Post a pic up of the end of a 172 crank and I'll compare it to the 197.
