i guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one then, i have personally never used dell in a business situation as i deal day in day out with customers who want to swap from them because of bad service.
As for home users, for the price they are good value, i just hope they never have...
i've had the opposite experience to you, my A217 was on and downloading things pretty much constantly for 3 yrs and never missed a beat, i've only replaced it with a 71ZU because it was not high specced enough for what i need it for, but 3 yrs on no stop is pretty damn good in my eyes.
I've had...
i'm on my 4th sony now, right from 11" to 17" and i would always recommend them, they are great design and fanastic spec.
Only issue with what you want it for is the size and weight of a blu-ray laptop, 17" laptops are 3.5-4kg which is not going to be nice lugging around an airport, i would go...
thanks guys, i think the next step is to take a look at a 40d in the flesh and decide whether i go for the body and lens upgrade or just a lens for now.
I'm really struggling with my 50mm though, just can't seem to get consistent results, keep getting out of focus shots or the focus in the...
i really want something for this trip though as its a trip of a lifetime to see one of the new 7 wonders of the world, and somewhere i doubt i will ever go again in my life, so i kind of want to go for it before hand if i am going to buy it this year.
need to pop to jessups at the weekend i...
sorry, but if I was buying into a DSLR now I would certainly not discount the Sony either, they have some great features and loads of lenses already.
I went with Canon as it was the start of the revolution with the 350d but its a different market now for entrants, lots more choice and a lot...
I was of the thought that the EF-S lenses were designed specifically for the smaller sensor cameras so the 10mm did actually mean 10mm, but if you put a non EF-s lens on it would be 10mm x 1.6?
Thats why the EF-s lenses aren't compatible with full frame bodies?
I am the same, once i get it in my head that i might go for something, it takes something pretty major to stop me.
Was thinking about this kit, to go with my 70-200L and 50mm f1.8

There is £60 cashback on the 40d at the moment...
cool, thanks, the more i think about it, the more i think about upgrading my camera too. Think I've had the 350 d for 2 1/2 years now as the sensor is dirty so it doesn't focus at all points, which is frustrating.
Thought I could upgrade to a 450d, but then i thought it wasn't much of an...
is this the sigma equivalent, so designed to fit the smaller sensor so will actually give me the 10 i need?

Going to peru next month and am debating whether I need to invest in a new lens to capture some amazing pics, lots of great scenery to shoot including the Uros floating islands and Machu Picchu.
I currently have a Canon 350d
kit lens of 18-55
50mm f1.8
and a 70-200 F4.0 L
Also have a second...
obviously i will plug my own company but contact Softcat on 01628 403 403, we are the UK's No.1 supplier of Open License for something like the 6th year in a row according to Microsoft so we must be doing something right. We are also a Microsoft Gold Partner.

axel music are very good, use them all the time, about 3 days delivery as they come from somewhere in europe to avoid tax, normally the netherlands.
Also use movietyme, they have ones that ship from the uk and from the US.
we use ghost for desktop imaging and altiris (well HP RDP) for the server deployment, have a redhat image prebuilt and can have the blade server up and running within 10 mins of it arriving through the door, love it.
Just been implementing 18 blades for a customer and he had some windows...
Mike, theres no battle, well not for anyone apart from yourself it seems and you are the one making yourself look like a tool presuming you know more about IT than anyone else on here because you have worked on an EVA and fiddle with the old HPUX box.
I know we are on the same side (much as i...
i have EVA's coming out of my arse;), how about an XP (not the OS;)) for lunch......
Anyway, we must have committed IT suicide according to the Hoff as we have gone Vista for our desktop, but then we are also using a Windows 2008 domain, 2008 clustering on a 2007 exchange mailbox SSC server...
probably been loads of them and most people are probably going anyway but here are mine from today.
I normally comeback disappointed by my photos but i've actually got a decent amount of keepers this time, very much depending on the lighting on the stand though.
Enjoy
