or would this be any better, 24-70 F2.8L?
http://www.warehouseexpress.com/product/default.aspx?sku=12835
Not much more expensive and would fit perfectly between a 10-22 and 70-200, but would it be any better than the non L but with IS that McBunny has?
in that case it could be an expensive month, with the 10-22 aswell and possibly a 50d lol.
and thinking about it, i am using the kit 18-55 at the moment anyway and never take my other filler lens with me, just the 70-200f4l so you're propbably right, i could do without it.
hmmm, was going to get the 17-85 F3.5-5.6 but after seeing these pics i might be tempted by this, only problem is if i get the 17-55 it leaves me with a gap until i get to my 70-200, so should i just live with the 15mm gap or stick with the 17-85 to be covered?
Well, plus the 17-55 is twice the...
was being discussed on the dpreview forums, must have been a mistake.
The Automatic focus though is a pain, how often do you video something that isn't moving and won't need refocusing.
hmmm, it has some nice features for the price but the video is a gimmic, it will only be used to show off the camera to people, look what my slr can do etc.
Lets not forget that it doesn't have sound and no automatic focus either, so its going to be pretty limited in this version, maybe a few...
its on the canon US, UK and japanese websites now, funnily enough, the only one it hasn't appeared on yet is the chinese one which is where all the leaked pages came from, the marketing firm probably got fired and have refused to give the artwork lol.
i had the 50-500mm sigma at the british gp a couple of years ag, that weighted 3.2kg i think and is a monster!
It will certainly be heavy after a few hours lol, good lens though

blody hell, warehouse express are quick, they have it for pre-order already, although as per usual, the dollar conversion doesn't quite work with the £ price, they want £1199...
well, its been announced today, i reckon its after all the stuff thats happened over the weekend with the leaked info.
new lens aswell, the 18-200 IS.
the street price on the 50d is $1400 and the lens $700 i think.
luckily i've got a month so i have a chance, i think they are only bringing this out because of pressure from nikon, the 40d has only been out a year and the models are normally replaced every 18 months.
we aren't all on CS wages walking around with 1D's.
I am upgrading from a 350d to this, I do apologise if its not expensive enough for you, its only a hobby for me, i'm the weakest link when it comes to my photography, not the camera, like most people i guess;)
i was thinking of jumping on that bandwagon too but a 50% increase in pixels and a decent lcd screen is something i can't look over really.
The 40d has £60 cashback on it at the mo anyway.
Been watching the forums and it looks like this si going to be released very soon, hopefully next month.
Theres been accidental specs on the chinese canon website and then this weekend what looks like a test site in japan that is now password protected, but i saw it before it was and it was...
in that case, well done, excellent shots, some good processing too.
I've not really tried any macro as i don't have a macro lens, but if i did i would want them to look like that.
these were my first attemps at an airshow, was a very dull day, rained a lot but got some good closeups og helicopters and spitfires

depends on the camera i guess, my canon 350d has the servo focus so its constantly focusing as you move it for things like motorsport photography, but it does drain the battery.
The auto focus will also depend on your lens and whether it is fast at focusing etc.
i'd stick to FAT32 all the way for home use, if you ever need to plug it into things like ps3'sand 360's they only read FAT32, for the home user, the only benefit of NTFS is the 4gb file size limit is not an issue, but how many files do you have at home that are 4gb in size? (apart from thos...
indeed, if you call up sky and tell them you might leave or go to virgin, they offer you HD for £75, if you take either movies or sports on the main package i believe.
it has been on HUKD and various other places.
hardly much easier, i have the files on a usb drive, i plug it into the ps3, press triangle and all the files are there to run seemlessly, i'd say that is easier, wireless is hardly reliable.
ps3, it does a lot more than just play movies, internet, games, music, avi's, PVR next month etc.
plus the firmware is easily upgradable, i'm pretty sure that bluray player is not compatible with the next features on discs coming out so will be lacking features all too soon, ps3, simple...
