mike, are you sure you and I dont share the same girlfriend cos mine does the same. Ive had to promise her to drive slow...I modified the promise to be I promise to drive slow when she is in the car with me.
Would Renault go to the trouble of a difference ECU for approx 30 cars a year? I think not.
My car also has the 98 Octane recommended sticker inside the filler cap so Im assuming its the same car as you get in europe
Okay so whats the difference between the Pioneer 7400mp and the Pioneer P740mp?
Ive got the latter but from what I can see its identical to the 7400mp except for premier written all over it
Ive also just had a service and also being down under (all be it on the other side of the Indian Ocean) Im also in winter, and I love the car especially on cold mornings
The AVS Sports are good, but being a much softer compound theyll wear out pretty damn quickly, esp on the front of a 172, but if youre not worried about tyre life then that wont worry ya
I had the Pirelli P5000 on my Clio 1.4 16V and I can rate them highly on that car. They stick like snot in the wet, and are pretty damn awesome in the dry. I didnt bother rotating the tyres and the fronts wore down to legal level after 30,000km when i did rotate them. The rears were as good as...
Yeah I half heartedly took on an older ferarri. Might have been a 308 as well. Im not too clued up on them, and while did did have loads of in gear power, he wasnt pulling too far ahead. He was actually playing with a Merc 320E which was pretty rapid especially on pull off.

Yep, the car definately performs better above 4,500rpm but what I was saying, is that if I drive the car like a gran, even when its warm, and then start booting it, its not as responsive as when I drive enthuesiastically and then boot it.
The whole car seems smoother if I drive with more right...
I just love taking on cars which are better than mine.
I knew the TVR would kill me but theyre very rare round here and this was the first one Id seen.
There are a few Scoobys, mostly WRXs, few STis, but no P1s
The other night I was following a 996 Turbo onto the highway...left me with a...
Yesterday I came up behind a TVR Chimera (or whatever its correct name is, please correct me), nice little motor in silver.
Anyway, it looks like were both going the same direction and Im keeping pace with him although, were not doing anything hectic. We get to a set of lights which have just...
I got mine with 13k on the clock and wasnt too impressed coming from a 1.4 16V but now Ive got 21k on the clock and Ive gotta say that the car is much more responsive.
It might also be me but Ive also started noticing that if I drive normally (barely get the revs to 4.5k and sit at about 3k in...
I used to drive a 2001 mk1 Clio 1.4 16V till I got my 2001 mk1 172 and I was also impressed with the 1.4 for its power and suprisingly its handling but unlike the 172 it doesnt have nearly enough power to really loose it too badly...I used to be able to plant it round a bend in the 1.4, but now...
youll hit top speed at around 6100rpm according to a review I read.
Never done it myself...maxed out at 200 and then thought about traffic cops and slowed right down again
