i had the same turned out the alarm was wired up wrong.
first tho cjheck all winows an doors are shut an the vents too.
may also be the bonnet switch i was told these are a common prob.
this weather it may be a water prob??
the above are what i was told to check when i had my prob. you...
i only seem to get high 20s mpg in my172 but thats short journeys an drivin like a b**ch!
motorway i can get 35ish! mind im normally doin ton plus !
had it as low as 15mpg before tho!
As i understood it the letters and numbers had to be a certain size but there was no law asto the size of the actual plate! ie you can have a huge plate like on the back of some rovers but if your plate is A1 then as long as the lettering is correct they cant do owt.
mite be wrong tho.
i really like mine. the car is def more responsive at lower revs. i tried connecting the viper to the standard air feed today but it got rid of all the benefits.
i just need to be arsed to take the front bumper off now to route is perfectly.
and that roar about 3-4K rpm is great!
well if you can get smpbaileys email, think its on the site an email him the pick he will prob design a few diff plates for you if you ask nicely.
cant see the pic by the way.
Yep my car was 1 of these. at the same RR the car had made 144 @ wheels two weeks before, when we went again i got 157 @ wheels. with 500 miles diff on the car! the car was totally standard and run with 1500 miles and 2000 miles respectivly.
they are great quality i got mine from him(javascript openWin pop_up_profile.asp?profile=5731&ForumID=7 , profile , toolbar=0,location=0,status=0,menubar=0,scrollbars=0,resizable=1,width=440,height=370 "> sbmbailey)...
For f**ks sake they are the same! Diff alloys a slightly diff spoiler and a splitter!! park them next to each other and the only obvious diff is the wheels.
Personally tho i think youd be mad to get an older car for the sake off a hundred quid a year! Unless you really want a 172 then good luck.

still seems to a divide in opinions on these!
yep seen my mate roll 1 in a field, nose over tail 3 times(doin silly speeds) and all 3 occupants walked away and the worst injury was the speaker in the parcel shelf hit 1 lad on the back of the head!
I was 1 of the (lucky?) people to get cruise as standard on my 53 plate 172. and on the way to beverley (on a private road) i decided to see wot it would do.
123mph is the answer. A few of us discussed this and the only reason we can see for this speed is it is approx 180k/h.Why that is...
trouble i have is it doesnt react quick enuff. when you pass a lorry and get covered with spray they stay the same speed, after you passed thge lorryb an pulled back in they start goin mad to clear whats already gone!
Im considerin the above mod for my 172. i already have a viper fitted and lookin to get an exhaust of sometype soon.
Do the people who have these (the ecu) fitted think they are worth it?
Opinions please!
i sorted my insurance out for mine when i was 21, picked the car up just after my 22nd bday. i got 2 yrs NCB and a big claim 3 yrs ago. i pay £1147.
thats with tesco by the way.
yep quite a few
i had mine done with 1500 miles on the clock, there were quite a few of us. search for Yorks/lancs RR day in the meetings section.
