Yep - had mine done over at Nightingales the other week. Also had it done at Birchdown in the past.
Both very reputable and know their stuff - so down to convenience really. Birchdown is just over 60 miles one-way for me, but has some great roads down Cheshire way. Nightingales are about a...
I took a punt on AliExpress - never ordered anything before in my life from there before - but it did turn up alright.
It comes with a rudimentary clamp system that I didn't use - but was lucky that the shifter mounting plate on my NLR GT Track had holes already that lined up with the back of...
In all honesty - I have no idea!
Visually, the OEM speakers were different spec and had a different part number:-
Front - Renault part number 8200069123
Rear - Renault part number 8200108290
They do look a fair bit different - front on the left, rear on the right.
Nice one. :)
The difference I've noticed, is subtle but clearly there. Short of spending £££ on a stereo upgrade that I've no real interest in, these have just added a bit more to what I've already got.
If anything, I might need to reduce the bass setting a little on my head unit!
Hi mate,
The Renault wiring terminated in a white connector (seen in that 2nd pic above) that was incompatible as a direct fit into both sets of Alpine speakers.
The link below shows one pack that contains two adapters for £4.99 - so you'll need two packs, if you upgrade all four speakers...
Updated the OEM speakers today with some Alpine units and adapter cables.
Definitely happy with the mild upgrade - just makes the audio sound a bit fuller and richer without sounding like a Max Power t**t from 2002.
Big thanks again to @Daz... for cabling advice and assistance, too.
I had very similar on the driver's side at the rear. Leaking in, ever so slightly when there was driving rain - collecting in and around where the jack is usually stored at the back corner.
Like yourself, took loads of trim out, silicone'd areas - but it still came in. Turned out that there...
I think for me with racing games such as these, you really do need the gamepad to play them. As you say, wheels just feel like an afterthought and completely disconnected in every sense of expectation between you and the game.
Games like Forza, Wreckfest and DiRT Rally 2.0 - I've always used...
I simply don't go on anything that's effectively PvP any more. The toxicity is off the charts.
It used to be all a bit tongue-in-cheek with the occasional rimjob shouting their mouths off - but nothing like it is today. PvE with randomers is about as close as I get these days.
Went to swap out my OEM door speakers in the 182 to a pair of Alpine SXE-1325S. Appears to be two minutes of job, but the pin-outs are in the wrong direction - as seen below.
Is there and adapter block or something similar that I can buy to make them align? I know absolutely nothing about car...
I think you've answered your own question there. ;)
"Best car I have owned - handled superbly on B roads."
As for footwell water - most likely to be one (or more) of the scuttle drains being blocked. Mine had it coming into the drivers footwell last year after the centre one was blocked. Easy...
I remember buying that for the PC and then returning it (to Woolworths!) as not long after, they did a specific version that supported the Matrox graphics cards, that I had at the time.
Installed that and it look so much better and significantly smoother too.
The first Wreckfest is only one of...
The ones I got off eBay were these, but it doesn't appear that they are listed anymore?
These are the sellers contact details though - might be worth seeing if he has the same item recoded to something else, or a close alternative?
Still see-sawing between 20.6 something and 20.7 something on that first RS3 test. 20.651 is my current best.
I either get the thing to understeer like an ocean liner in the hairpin, the arse-end comes around, or 2nd gear gets bogged down. Anyone else managed the 20.4 three star pass?
The...
Clearly a lot to be ironed out yet - but I do like the constant trickle of updates coming through. I can't even begin to imagine the complexity and levels of coding required to get something like this running well. It's not exactly like you can download a full audio catalogue for the rev-range...
