<blatant get-out story>
Jane had a lesson with an instructor - good bloke, 3 times Formula Renault champion. I think he was pushing her a bit hard! Anyhow, she lost it big-time on the exit of McLeans, spun about 100 yards across the grass and ended up neatly parked on one of the...
Brilliant day, wet in the morning, but sun came out at lunchtime - lets murder some tyres!
usual easytrack atmosphere - totally relaxed and no hassle at all. Good company, nice to see Chris (oldman) and Nicky in their GDId 182 :D...
Me on that occasion, Mike (the other Mike) screwed up his launch on that run I think. On the next race he was right with me for the first 200 yards, then he missed 3rd gear, so we never did really find out which car is quicker.
To be continued.... :D
Ive done 4.5k and have 4 or 5 nice chips. Chipsaway quoted £150 to fix them, leaving it a month or so before I get it done. Fortunately the front of the car is all plastic, so its just cosmetic.
182s were running high 15s / low 16"s last weekend. None of them got below 15.6. As I said, different surfaces, conditions. Unless you do some 1/4 mile racing youll never understand - its all about what happens on the day - nothing to do with past figures, magazines etc.
Are TVRs still as unreliable as they were a few years ago? Bloke at work had one (still has it I think), and he couldnt rely on it to get him to work in the morning - had to buy another car in the end.
Oh right, yeah thats true I guess. Well I beat a Mk1 V6 twice last weekend. Times were all over the place though owing to the ice-rink that Santa Pod seem to think is a good surface.
Ah sorry! Cant really understand how manufacturers or magazines can publish 1/4 mile times for cars, its a sport! Times depend on the skill of the driver (telford_mike=0 skill!). Also conditions make a huge difference, Santa Pod has no traction at all at the moment for instance.
Make your pics a bit smaller mate - 800k x 3 pics is a bit much!
