Thanks for the info :) I presume that the 172 coilovers must be different to the 182 variety, at least in terms of how many 'clicks' there are on the rear.
Do you find the ride very unsettled on the softest setting? Are you running the rear harder than the front (which is supposed to give the...
lol. I can't believe the poor responses ^^^
Shame they make decent kit, because with that attitude (i.e handing them sales on a plate!) they don't deserve any orders!
I'm interested to know, what made you decide on Gaz?
I see you've only lowered yours a little. I have the rear on mine as low as it will go (with the adjustment plates fitted), and the fronts are lowered to almost the same (around -55mm). It looks good.
You mention that there are 16 clicks...
You might as well wait 30 mins if you've got the time - no harm in it.
If you've got the correct resistor, the light will not come on. Even if it does (say from a lose connection) it will go off once you've fixed it and restarted.
Don't be a girl ;) (this is where you tell everyone that I was too cold to take my hands out of my pockets? lol)
I'm glad its height and not width - these seats ain't for the post-xmas fatties! ;)
The airbag light is on at the moment - will be trying the resistor trick soon(as works with the steering wheel)
Steering wheel was a 30 minute job, very easy, but its not the first momo I've had ;)
Racing182 - my headlights are original 182 units, guess its the light?
I put some grease on, and it got completely flattened, so it must be hitting them - how often I don't know. I've now raised it 20mm at the front, and re-greased it, so I'll check it again soon.
Still doesn't feel right at the new height yet.
Big thanks to Loony for his top quality skills installing these last weekend :) Now got the rear seats back in (mainly for sound-deadening, I'm not willing to put up with 90db of road noise just to save 20kg's ;) it also looks good, and keeps my sound system sounding great). Loony, had to raise...
Fair comments, I guess it depends what you like most - screen size (and compromise on the perfect contrast / brightness) or detail. Both is possible of course, but everything has its price.
I run a 110" 720p screen and it cost me £980 (panasonic ae-700). I can't physically fit a larger screen in my house. HDTV is awesome on it.
Nothing against TV's, but they're a bit limited.
If you have to ask.....lol
I got around 23-25mpg from mine - mainly non-motorway
Its not a massive amount wider in reality, but if its a squeeze now, then it won't get any better. And the doors are thick.....
I'd do it (even thought I went the other way mk1 V6 --> 182), not because one car is faster, better handling, better noise, etc (whichever that may be) but because the V6 is a legend.
Do you need special bolts to stop the two bolt heads (or nuts) crashing into each other when they pass by? I notice that oem seats have those flat faced jobbies...
Works the other way too though. I came from my M3 power (not gillette), and felt the 182 was a bit slow, but after a couple of weeks, I got used to it, and now it feels as fast as the BMW did :)
Please could someone tell me what additional bolts, etc. I need to fit the sliders (which I have) to my cobra seats / subframes?
Any tips on fitting them would be top banana as well.
Thanks,
Mike
