The foam piperx one that is on Chrisnnics Cup sounds lots better than my K&N. You can also relocate the kit yourself with some hose where the original airfeed comes from.
I didnt like the GTi 180 one little bit, but TB11 has one on order and thinks its great - and thats after owning a Scooby. Each to their own I suppose, but Id rather scrape my eyes out with a rusty spoon than own a 206 GTi again...
Might as well get a decat on it at the same time. I think most places can sort of tune the sound of an exhaust system. If I get one I want it to be no louder than standard below 5000 revs and then scream abvove 5k!
The torque curve on my Williams was much, much flatter than those Ive seen for 172s. My old MK2 172 had a curve that was more like a sketch of a mountain range. Might be worth a look at Chrisnnics before and after RSport chip curves. Think the chip gave no more bhp, but smoothed the torque and...
Scotty16v - Do a search over the last year on "Ecotek". Theres been loads written about it.
If you fancy a little mod like this, for just £42.50 I can sell you a Hyper-mega fuel hose technopaperclip. Its easy to fit, quieter than the Ecotek and does exactly the same job.

WTF?!?!?! You just cut the brake servo vacuum hose and install the Ecosh*te as close to the throttle body as possible, secured with a couple of jubillee clips. Thats it. If you have you pay someone to do that, then Id suggest that its you who "dont have a f**king clue". Jeezus.
And if it...
Having owned mk1 & mk2, here are my thoughts on this:
Sunflower yellow - seen Kathys and saw one in Sheffield last night. Yes nice, very, very uncommon. Ive seen 2 Exclusives in a fortnight. Only 2 yellow ones in over 2 years of looking out for them.
I prefer the MK2 172 interior from an...
Lol, even I fitted my own on my 1.4 16v, its that simple, and Im a mechanical disaster area.
It didnt do anything apart from go sccccccchhhhhluuuurrrrrrrrpppppppp alot. Which annoyed me. So I removed it!
The powersteering in both is hydraulic as far as I know. When I got my 1st 172 is did seem to pull around alot under hard acceleration, but Im totally used to it now. Just hang on a bit tighter....
I found that the Williams was miserable on petrol. I usually get between 25 and 32mpg in the 172 depending on traffic conditions (worse MPG through rush hour traffic :-( ). The Williams used to get about 20 to 25mpg.
But if you want your car to go SCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHKKKKKZZZZZZZZ every time you back of the throttle, or make it sound like you have someone slurping their tea under your bonnet, the Ecotek IS the way forward.
