is it an age thing when you start appreciating cars like this? because i've noticed myself doing it more and more recently. someone bring me pipe and slippers. and a miami blue 205 gti.
as much as i dislike the bodykit, at least it looks like it's been fitted ok.
the thing that gets me is the tears in the bonnet and the red badge. who thought red would look good with gold?
i spoke to the garage today. had a good chat, agreed that everything had been done apart from suspension. it so happens i've got some shocks to go on along with some eibach sportlines and new top mounts in the post. once these are on (hopefully next weekend) i'll report back. if that doesn't fix...
£543 for a new renault rack fitted including tracking from a specialist :) new rack comes with new tie & track rods
or if you do it yourself, £50-£100 for a second hand rack, £25 tracking and £10 for fluid i guess. new rack bushes are £50 if you need them.
check this out...
driving on the inside lane of a dual carriageway with a slight camber to the left, it was tracking right slightly so i let it do its own thing and wander across to the other lane- it got half way across the cats eyes, hit one of them, or a small bump in the road, and started to...
breakthrough. i think...
just got back from having the wheels balanced and car tracked on a hunter system. details:
ignoring the fact the toe is still out by two minutes, it's obvious what sticks out like a sore thumb! the tracking place told me it shouldn't make much difference but i'd like...
Worth mentioning- with both wheels off the ground it feels fine.
lots to look at wobba, thanks :) i've answered in italics:
Refill & bleed powersteering fluid?
would have been done when rack changed. i've checked level and bled it.
Check tyre pressures are equal, front and rear.
yes all...
yeah mine has three bolts holding the seal in place. the driveshaft has popped out before but the seal keeps it in check. now when i have to remove the wishbone for anything i cable-tie the strut to the arch to keep it in place
finally realised that black sticky stuff on my trolley jack is the cars underseal. i'm jacking on the chassis legs but the jack isn't moving much with the car and is taking the underseal off.
is normal hammerite sufficient or would you do it properly with likes of
hammerite underbody seal...
camber on the piss was one of my thoughts. a recent hunter alignment shows everything within renaults parameters for the cup, but it was done with worn wishbone bushes.
just fitted powerflex bushes on the wishbones and it seems to have exasperated the problem further.
toe is definitely on the piss but i'm not confident that's the problem as i've driven other cars with tracking slightly out before and they weren't any harder to steer left and right. getting the tracking done is on the list but i plan to fit eibach springs and arb bushes next month and thought...
not alot harder.
bit gutted as i paid over £500 to have the rack replaced and after only a couple of miles realised the tracking was slightly off. i know the tracking was set up because i have the print out of before and after.
diagnosis has never been my strong point so i'm not sure what could...
how many contradictions can you spot...

The car comes with a years MOT aswell for you so its all legal and ready to go.
*TAX AND A SERVICE ARE ALL...
I've had this problem for a while now. Its even had a new rack which almost cured the problem but weeks later the problem is back.
What's the likely culprit?

they're upside down in the pic so no idea if they are the same. could always order them and run them back if...
suspension top mounts.
i've searched and seen both yes and no. some places give different part numbers, some don't.

it still doesn't mean the garage will believe it though.
