Possibly up for meeting down there. If its a free for any car ill ask my friends in their : Golf mk.2 16v, pulsar, possibly 205 gti 1.9, and any others i can muster down. I could ask my mate in his pulsar to bring along his other mate with his bright purple 205 gti-6 engined monster on twin...
I quite like the idea of good MPG and good acceleration. My dads getting the Golf 150 bhp GT TDi soon and ill be insured. It will have 236 lb/ft of torque and the same bhp as his current Gti 1.8T. I dont know the figures for acceleration/in gear times etc, but ive heard its a fair bit quicker...
Y-reg silver one belongs to chrisMvts on saxosports club, he was 2 up i was 4 up. (did someone mention that the y-regs had 130 bhp?) Anyway, 6 people can vouch for it. I guess it must be a dud VTS as i did also beat him using my dads golf 1.8T 4-door boat.
Seriously tho, if we do decide to race ill make sure the cold pipes are on the airbox and there are no speed traps.......
How do you fair against mk.2 16v golfs? theyre about similar power to a 16v id have thought? 137 bhp i believe. My friends beats VTSs and its mildly modded - lightened...
Its a y-reg 2001 mk.1, only came with 1 years warranty. I wish things had broken earlier so that i could get a years warranty on them like my gearbox. Must remember to break the new one before the warranty on that runs out ;)
My clio was whining and sounded like it was superchargred.
Took it into renault garage and today its been resolved:
New alternater belt, new tensioner C2(?) new tensioner ME(?), replaced roller pulley.
I dont really understand the list, but it seems they replaced all my belts!? the cost...
When youre racing on the roads the person behind can pretty much always keep up in the bends, in most good handling cars. With regards to handling the only real place you can exploit it is on a race track to be honest or maybe a long deserted roundabout? Its easy for the person behind to keep...
Ok here we go:
friends standard pulsar up hill
Bug-eyed boat impreza y-reg estate (silver)
3 clio 16vs, 1 with a claimed 150 bhp-hardest
VTS countless times
106 gti
even stevens with escort cosworth with my group N ecu.
even with sapphire turbo
even with sierra cosworth (astra...
Nice dials arent they? ;)
When the diagnostic mode is on then all the lights like stop , serv , brakes etc are illuminated i think. Also the temp guages and fuel guages on the diagnostic mode move around too. Seems quite believable - i bet its a V6. Id have thought a V6 would reach 150...
After reading this i decided to have a go with 97 octane from esso garage. I read somewhere that optimax is SUL with additives in it including octane boosters etc. I dont know really. Some impreza driver was saying that his impreza went quicker, but idled rougher on 95 and smoother and slower...
Cheers for the help. Woud it still be the powered steering if i just revved it on the spot and the whining rose with the engine revs? It doesnt change pitch when i move the steering wheel.
My 172 has developed a "whine" from the engine bay. This occurs when the revs raise and fall. Not only when im going along, but also when i rev the engine at standstill. Has anyone else had this problem? I read that people have had problems with the waterpump - could it be this? It sounds...
That ECU sounds very much like what i have sitting in my cuboard at home for sale........
Its a Group N ECU just exactly as what you describe. Raises the rev limit to 7800 rpm (displayed on the rev counter anyway) and the car DRINKS fuel when I was running it. Cant afford a car that...
Jase1 - nice to see youve been toasting it on the roads! ;)
I think in a straight line an APR-equipped S3 would leave a lot of things as its been modded. (more boost)
Now a standard S3 is a different kettle of fish. I had an organised toast with one a while back - i mentioned it on here...
Ok first of all sorry to hear about your crash. This has happened to two of my friends recently in their cars. In the event of understeer - particularly on a wet road - lift off the gas slowly until it stops understeering, sometimes the back will come around (like in your case) and sometimes...
pete - you really are ashamed of those racing stripes arent you!!?lol
Most stupid thing was taking a corner too late/deciding at last minute (in first, old car) and understeering into a kerb with a bollard on top. Bent the control arm and the wheel was rubbing the arch.
Mine torque steers all over the place like a pit bull terrior on a leash. Especially when the tyres are worn down or the road surface is dodgy. I demonstrated torque steer to my friend by flooring it doing no hands, the steering wheel span around to the left quicker than i could even think of...
I wrote this yesterday but just before id finished writing a review on each test drive my computer crashed before i could post it! gol dang it!
Anyway, I test drove a load of different cars prior to buying mine.
Proton Gti - nice looking but horrible/cheap interior, good handling but very...
As i said in another post, Im sure everyones had some stage of madness when it comes to mods in their lives, write down what mistake(s) youve made on previous cars/mods.
I confess to buying a blow pipe for my old scirocco! it cost £15 from C.A.R. and it sounded like a Pig snorting and at about...
urrrrrgh. I dont know what goes through peoples minds. Although im sure everyones had some stage of madness when it comes to mods in their lives. I confess to buying a blow pipe for my old scirocco! it cost £15 from C.A.R. and it sounded like a Pig snorting. My brother put a limited edition...
