My friend has a 16v mk.2 F-reg. Its pretty quick and id say its quicker than my friends VTS - possibly even stevens off the lights tho(?) On a death race onto a dual carriageway i think the Golf 16v would definately pull away. Thats 1.8 16v 137 bhp standard around 7.5 to 60 i think?

Id change the oil at 6k and get the first major service at 12

I never get into a car and think ahhh its got ABS. It is hardly ever activated, but only is when a "suprising event" (e.g. a deer jumps out or a car swerves into your path etc) occurs. My reactions would be in these instii(?) are to stomp on the brakes and ABS would come alive and save me, but...
