Off the lights special: (same place where i was toasted by the fiesta turbo xr2 thingy) anyway, i was in the left lane, the mustang 5.0 was in the right lane. I looked over and it was a middle aged women driving it, so i smiled and she blipped the throttle of the throbbing small(!) block...
Easy tiger.... you stirred those GtiR boys up good nproper didnt you!!? p.s. mine can beat mk.2 172s too! fancy a race sometime!!? maybe we can meet with my mate in his Pulsar and you can show him how a Willy handles...
I need a new gear box for my 172, it crunches in 3rd really badly all the time. Ive raced a saxo VTS many times and once we get onto a dual carriage way, i just disappear into the sunset. I even did it in my dads Golf 1.8 turbo golf! needless to say, the vts driver was not pleased...
Yep, I had a run in with an Escort Cosworth last night down a long runway ( ) he was infront and was accelerating flat out, i was up his bumper pushing him along! and had to back off a few times anyway, he moved over and i went past. He then went up my ass and a car was in my way, car moves...
Excellent! its good being able to have your advise before i go and spend my pennies! do you think i should stick with the standard airbox, or stick on my green cotton jobby. Did the previous Cup cars have the green cone cotton filter?
Oh no, I feel awful! I was toasted by a mk.2 Fiesta XR2 with a turbo. He pulled next to me at the lights and I had one passenger, he had none. He started rolling before the lights went and he shot off on orange, (GREAT), so i proceed after him, he is in front, im nudging his rear bumper like...
Sounds interesting. After just my group N ecu, my car revs to 7800 rpm: Tonight i went out and raced an Escort Cosworth (N-reg) and I was having to back off to stop rear ending him. He moved out of the way and i came past at !30 and he tagged in behind. Cars in front meant slowing down was...

Thanks Ben for the advice. I really want the car to be less economical with more torque and hp, without sacrificing either! I see what youre saying, but i guess ill go for that exhaust, as i think without the manifold it comes in at £300. Do you know where the CAT goes? because after looking...
Theyre quite quick those pug 206s, pretty torquey, i test drove one ages ago. Never driven a 1.6 clio. He probably is on the pug website saying that he nearly toasted a 172!

Also, do all the pre-race checks: oil level, tyre pressures, remove spare wheel and fill with only a little optimax. If youre really worried, empty your windscreen washer bottle to gain those vital split seconds!
You should toast him. Take him down some twisty roads (private runway of course) and let the clio show him what its made of. Escorts are heavy. I used to have a 1.6 scirocco and my friend used to have a 1.6 escort 16v and i always used to toast him! easy money mate.
Hahaha, oh dear, cool! Ok, ill stretch to a "big one" marsbar...Thatd be cool if a company took on your design and developed the supercharger. Maybe Hillpower could fit them to our 172s?
