Thanks Ben for the advice. I really want the car to be less economical with more torque and hp, without sacrificing either! I see what youre saying, but i guess ill go for that exhaust, as i think without the manifold it comes in at £300. Do you know where the CAT goes? because after looking...

Theyre quite quick those pug 206s, pretty torquey, i test drove one ages ago. Never driven a 1.6 clio. He probably is on the pug website saying that he nearly toasted a 172!

Also, do all the pre-race checks: oil level, tyre pressures, remove spare wheel and fill with only a little optimax. If youre really worried, empty your windscreen washer bottle to gain those vital split seconds!

You should toast him. Take him down some twisty roads (private runway of course) and let the clio show him what its made of. Escorts are heavy. I used to have a 1.6 scirocco and my friend used to have a 1.6 escort 16v and i always used to toast him! easy money mate.
