Yep that's about right, there is no reason an M3 will outcorner a ClioSport by any significant amount unless it's at VERY high speed where the better stability of the M3 will shine. The main difference is the bits in between are faster in the M3.
Son? lol.
It just doesn't work on Clios, or that Corsa and Astra. It just look ridiuclous and the car just looks "s**t" rather than "rat". I've only ever seen pictures from the VW scene do it where it could potentially be described "cool". But even that's debatable as consciously making your...
You mean "on the other hand" or upside :p
Does sound strange, but sometimes sidewalls are very thin, so thin that you can puish your finger into it easily; just depends on the tyre design but I would have expected those P Zero Neros to be fairly stiff in the sidewall department.
My 182 I got has 30k on it and it feels tight, but it's a lot more nervous just like the roadtest reviews described it. The 197 I test-drove was a bit rough round the edges and had 70k miles on it but it was still a revelation. It's the basic suspension design, track width etc it's just very...
Having driven both I don't think there's a whole lot in it ratio-wise so you may be "disappointed" it's not like quickrack that some cars have. However, it's not the be all and end all as the throttle and suspension can compensate.
It is eletronic on the 1.2 which also seems to have positive...
Modern spark plugs in modern engines will probably last the lifetime of the engine/car; they very rarely fail and it would be last thing I'd change if it suddenly started misfiring/emissions warning light on. It's always most likely to be a sensor or coilpack.
All seems very expensive as the...
It is; I bought a 182 (girlfriend's actually) and we test drove a couple of 197s also. I thought they were brilliant, amazed in fact at the stability, grip, gearchange and steering and space inside. The 182 is a very nice car but feels more old-school (it felt quicker in a straight line though).
You do realise people buy brand new cars (that's how you can buy a "2nd hand" car a few years down the line much cheaper...) and for a brand new car £14k is on the cheap side? It might financially cripple YOU but that doesn't mean it does others, afterall someone paid £11k for your car once! New...
I'm in the same situation. The rears have been tinted far too dark and it looks almost like a van (car is black). I've had quotes of removing and fitting a lighter tint varying from £110-170, so just removal should be a fair bit cheaper than that.
If you look on the net there are various...
Yes, this is best practice IMO; put the other bolts back in as tight as you can get them and it might hopefully take some tension off the stuck bolt.
But also as above, not sure what wheelbrace you are using, but those common telescopic ones with reversable 17/19mm socket can be extend...
Would I be right in saying the 182 headlights seem to have a grey surround whereas the earlier 172 are black? I think the earlier black surrounds look much better (particularly on a black car). Is it possible to paint the surrounds; do the units separate easily?
I was there but not in the clio (was in a black M Coupe). Noticed the silver facelifted y-plate - that must have been an early one! Had a brief look at the orange 182 - a Cup I think?
The 182 is just the newer 172 so just like most cars if you want the newest car it's going to be pricier so depends on your budget, but there is little difference between them in terms of spec/performance.
For me the one at £7450 is part-damaged, in that it's not normal wear and tear for that mileage. It's the only one I can see around that figure and is at the price IMO because of the unusual high miles and the damage around the filler cap plus a host of other problems associated with a high...
tunnel vision? what do you mean :S Apart from auctions for the trader, Autotrader (and now more recently Piston Heads) is the main source for selling/buying cars. FACT . My reply wasn't in reply to you anyway; someone said check autotrader, I did; and there are no 197s for less than £8k really -...
And it shows! Why dream up a price for a car that doesn't exist just to sound like you're "in the know"? There are none below £8k really. The white one at £7k is mis-priced and I went to see the Nimbus one (at £7450) with 68k on at Christmas and it's very rough and the price reflects this. The...
Best bet it to ditch that non-hubcentric junk and get some proper spacers with some proper longer wheelbolts. As already said with 5mm you should be ok as the spigot should still protude a bit to sit the wheel on (you can't get 5mm hubcentric anyway) but Eibach make 10mm hubcentric spacers and...
Hubcentric just means the centre spigot is carried out by the spacer (ie they have the lip), spacers that don't require longer bolts (by bolting to the hub then the wheel bolts to the spacer) is just a different fitting type.
They do change direction well for their weight. But you're right, a lot of the better 0-60 time is RWD traction vs FWD (I know they ARE a little quicker but not hugely). I've seen quite a few almost standard Clio Sports get in the mid 14s which is almost the same.
What reg is the Z4? the early ones are 230bhp, then later 255bhp or so. Tbh they are quick but I think an early one wouldn't be that much quicker (certainly not the difference people are suggesting on here- power to weight is similar) and handling wise you'd push him on a "twisty" road unless he...
Re: noicey sunroof
That'd be something I would suggest being best. I don't think the rear handle is the cause of the creaks and groans, the 1.2 I had it came from the front two mounts/hinges and if you put pressure upwoards on the sunroof it stopped completely so trapping some rubber or cork...
If the wheels were smooth/balanced before then the problem is the spacer. If you ahve put a 10mm hubcentric spacer on then you WILL 99.9% of the time get wheel wobble/vibration and it's not ideally safe either - there's no centre spigot to centrally locate the wheel. With the out of round wheel...
I'm not 100%, but I don't think the Clio Sport has the same positive-centre steering like the non-Sports do, it's a traditional hydraulic setup I tink (vs the electronic PAS).
I'd take it back to the place that tracked it and explain that the wheel is off-centre (it's amazing how just this...
Probably a chamfer which can stop squealing?
Of Ferodo pads I only rate DS3000 but that is a track pad and the dust on that is pretty bad (DS2500 is pretty bad too but it's not as aggressive).
