Oh yea, the 197 is a step up from the Trophy (but the Trophy is supposed to be the ultimate Phase 2 ClioSport, that's what I meant; if the chassis is a let down on that then there isn't much left hehe).
The wider track helps but the change in the front suspension design gives the biggest...
HID bulbs in halogen projectors are still technically illegal but the light control and cutoff is similar to a proper XENON HID light so you don't blind people. The only difference is that in a projector designed for a halogen bulb the reflector is in a slightly different position/shape due to...
Re: how many nocks does your car have
Could it not be the parcel shelf tapping up and down? they seem to be loose and a little sponged in the centre of the boot trim traps the shelf when you shut the boot.
They are illegal but you'll get away with them if you're fitting them to projector lights. However if your clio has projector style lights you'll have HIDs anyway (although other car makes use projectors with halogen bulbs which have a asimilar way of controlling the light). So fitting an HID...
I prefer the ealier Cooper S (and mini in general), the newer one has been influenced by pedestrian safety and the front end is not as nice IMO. They also seem to have a higher ride height too, Still those earely ones are pricier than a 182 though. Forget the later turbo ones as they're gonna be...
Yea that's a picture from a few years ago. I can't se the sidewall being very stiff :D, they loko a bit soft don't they! Probably got a long way to go before that can of tyre is going to be considered.
182s is ok IMO, just nothing to write home about. Any weakness is probably mainly due to driver error hehe.
The 197 is awesome, light, smooth and super short shift, probably one of the best gearboxes I've ever used.
Costco currently have a really nice aluminum trolley jack with low platform, about £65+vat (in fact it looks like the exact same jack as in your original the motorsport link). It's also really light too for it's size. Has replaced an old smaller jack that was much heavier and wouldn't fit under...
I disagree, I think the trim materials (seats etc) and dash design in the 182 is nice; the interior on the 197 is probably one of the least signs of progress (ie I think the exterior is a bigger leap). However the 182 does feel cramped compared to the 197, espeically in the back (in the 197...
Sorry I mis-interpreted and forgot you original said you have PE2s already on the back. I would definietly try to stretch to another pair of PE2s to replace the Federals. The difference might be £50 over two yeras but they'll probably last longer than Toyos anyway. IMO, there's no point buying a...
If it was me, I'd just get PE2s; as the tyre was the factory fitment and it was kind of designed with these in mind it keeps the car original and for me it was something I checked when buying mine. The other thing is mixed tyres on a car is a no-no (for me anyway); IMO I'd get 2 new PE2s, fit...
Blackcircles are always way more than anywhere else IME.
Camskill sell them (they only sell 205/45/16 in the PE2), I paid £87.50 each a few weeks ago and they'd be with you tomorrow if you buy before 4pm.

As with any canvas soft top you can apply a regenerating solution and proofer which will usually get rid of any mould/green and turn it blacker and re water proof it (so rain bobbles on it like waxed paint). I used "Renovo" stuff on a soft top I had and it worked great.
It won't stop any better, but you might get better pedal feel (I know in theory you should but for most times you can lock the brakes anyhow).
Often the "better" feel is indirectly due to having freshly bled the system at the same time as fitting the braided hose. The factory pedal feel is...
It is, and the 182 pulls really well I find low down and picks up in any gear really well; I find it lacks, if anything, in the mid-range. I think the Cerbera is skewing his perception!!
Do RSTuning do a plain remap or is it an add-on box (or is that something just with a similar name!!?). Does this get rid of the light throttle inconsistency when cold?
330 was obviously not as well driven as it should have been noticeably faster than the older 323 (unless it was modified? - they're big old boats otherwise!)
Who said demolish anything? My argument was not on a full lap vs each other but on someone saying there's no comparison "through the twisties" which isn't really true. The Clio if anything having an advantage on sharper corners with faster changes of direction.
On track my 3.2 M Coupe is...
Yes exactly lol. Walk down the street dressed in a skirt and you'll also get more "attention" than someone else. The key is to get the right sort of attention, not people just standing there shaking their heads/laughing :p :clown:
Why do you automatically think an M3 can stop faster than a Clio? It has got bigger brakes and wider tyres but it weights almost 50% more. When the ClioSport came out it was one of the quickest stopping cars 100-0 that Autocar have ever timed. The brakes on the my 182 feel awesomely powerful for...
