That does kind of work but a pressure bleeder (eg Gunsons Eazibleed) is the easiest and best to use. To properly bleed through the ABS unit I think pressure is required. The footdown two man method isn't as good IMO, it can also wear the M/C seals out.
Those DeltaMics are cheapo spacers. I would only recommend Eibach/H&R/FK etc. Purely from experience as I had some of their steel ones and the fit was not good at all; the tolerance varied on each spacer so some fitted snug on the hub, others had play.
There seems to be some confusion on...
The lower tread they are the slower the wear will be. If they're pretty new they may looks a bit shredded but they will eventually "clean" back up with road use.
Different people seem to get different results. I used greenstuff pads on my 205gti years ago and they were great, they then changed the formula adding copper and they didn't fade but gave bad vibration and I stoppped using them. Now use Yellowstuff in that and my M Coupe and they're pretty...
I think it's just very poor mapping, there is a complete dead spot on the throttle just above the first initial press (where you'd want to use to drive it lightly etc). Apparently the remaps fix this?
Passed an oncoming Trophy around 8ish, female driving it with a private plate, looked like it was spelling "Becky". It's quite a nice colour on the road, I was put off by the orangey-redness when looking for a 182!! :D
There's no such thing as DOT4.1 unless I've missed something?
DOT 5.1 is the one to go for, it does not absorb water any more than DOT4, it is just a higher spec fluid (higher boiling point). Castrol Response and Super DOT 4 is not better than any old DOT 5.1 (Eg Comma etc), I've tried them...
Pedal feel should feel firm, it shouldn't really sink to the bottom though I don't think. To me the factory brakes on these cars are brilliant; good feel and are powerful - although I think they are on the verge of being too grabby as a lot of modern French stuff can be a little overservoed...
DS2500s are very bad for brake judder when they get hot, smearing over the disc and I would never recommend using them. Dusty too.
I agree the factory setup is awesome for occassional heavy use, but for uprated pads I would avoid Ferodo.
Rubbish, they are all practically the same. The 182 is just the 172 but newer so is therefore more expensive just like any other car would be. Of course condition is something to be considered but generally cars that are newer are more expensive!
I think most gearboxes don't like being changed into 1st unless stopped - I can't remember a single instance when I've ever needed to go BACK to 1st though whilst already moving.
The old 1.2 8v engine in the Corsa is very wheezy and the 1.2 16v engine in the Clio should feel much better. As someone already said, they should feel fairly nippy for the engine size.
Yea, most MOT testers won't even notice as they look "right" in a projector headlamp. "Techincally" they are illegal but for arbitrary reasons like washers/auto aim but IMO there's no problem with them in terms of light output/glare.
Yea, as above that won't work unless you just want to 1/4 mile with them. Although you might feel that it's the front hat needs increaseing in grip (traction, understeer etc), if you put 888s on the front and left road tyres on the back it'll oversteer like mad and be very easy to spin.
IMO the ride height looks spot on to me and they look great. The 16v looks great in it's own right, as does the facelifted ClioSport 172/182, but park either next to a 197 and they suddenly date.
