That's the kind of info I was looking for as I'm not aware of the pros and cons.
I didn't think they looked too bad, especially the black against the tyres but if they cause damage then seems pretty pointless.
Hey I'm in touch with my feminine side hahaha
It was more to get the colour to the edge but with the additional protection. Just wondered what they really looked like as fancied a bit of colour on the outside of the car.
I'm looking at getting the rims on my 172 refurbished, ideally powder coated gloss black. I fancied a bit of colour but not sure the lip of the 172 alloys would work being a different colour.
Was thinking that Alloygators may be an option, obviously they offer some protection against light...
I thought exactly the same with my 225. It got to three years old and the mileage was so low, for the amount it had dropped in price, what would I get that was in that condition for the money? I mean for a mint 225 Phase I I'd imagine £6,500 is probably the most I'd realistically sell for. For...
Thanks mate, if you're interested have a look here : http://built-not-bought.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=32&sid=857fb28618f4b761fe04f3841048c345
I think it was just under 2k in the first year on my Megane. Thing is I bought a cheap runabout after about 6 months of owning the Megane so used...
She's not bad mate, currently got 3,200 miles on the clock. She's certainly in good condition.
Thing is there's a big difference between simply leaving a car sitting around without doing the mileage and actually preserving the car and keeping it like new. Your Clio is certainly in the second...
IF that's the case then go for a 172 mate. They still perform brilliantly and are just as grin inducing as the Meganes.
The 172 is definitely cheaper to run, without a doubt!
Good plan mate, I don't park my 225 anywhere for exactly the same reason. That's also still on its original tyres as well and brake pads etc. Its a 2006 but has only averaged about 500 miles a year.
Definitely hang onto this mate, it's not worth selling it for the money as sadly older...
Well I've got one of each and to me the 225 ticks more boxes. Far more power and torque, not dissimilar handling, certainly more inspiring grip and a better interior.
That said the Megane will do 10mpg less than the 172 on average and servicing is more expensive as is the tax.
That said the...
Funnily enough I have a Decepticon sticker on my Megane! lol
I like the white graphics in the top pic and funnily enough the car has smaller versions in white in the same place but they just don't go on the Iceberg paint like they do against the blue. Maybe in black.
I will admit I do need a...
Looks really good that, especially for the money as well.
I managed to pick up a 172 with 55k on the clock for £800 with a bit of cosmetic damage. £600 worth of repairs to have a dent removed, bumper/arch/side skirt sprayed and I'm still in the money. So much car for the cash. :)
Nothing hugely wrong with Meguiars products, in fact their #16 or #26 are very good and some of their off the shelf products are perfectly good.
Sadly their Gold Class range isn't much cop. I've used the liquid wax a while back and it looked nice enough but the protection lasted a few weeks at...
That's kinda what I was wondering, I'm open minded so wondered whether anyone had anything that'd catch my eye.
Was thinking of a nice MOTORSPORT sun strip!!! haha ;)
Just wondered what stickers or decals people have on their RS Clios? I'm just looking for some ideas on whether there's any good ideas out there that I could steal some inspiration from. :p
Totally depends unfortunately. For me I'd rather look at a clean and tidy example even with a few mods over a shoddy stock example. These cars have been around long enough to of had a few mods like an exhaust or wheels etc. Can also depend on the type of mods you go for.
For example I bought my...
I just bought mine with a dent in the door and scrape on the bumper, hardy think that's a shady past but the b*llocks in this article would lead you to think so!!
What a load of old gash that is!!
I mean by a 'dark past' they could mean a scuff in a car park that was repaired rather than a cut and shut. Let's face it with a lot of cars sitting around for months before they're even bought new, most cars have a repair/paint in their lives anyway.
Thing is I get similar comments about my car but when you only do a few hundred\thousand miles a year in a car, it makes every drive a bit special. Plus I've not doubt that after seven and a half years that 182 feels as fun as ever rather than being a daily driver which feels 'normal'.
I like the idea of a really metallic grey rather than the grey it's currently got.
Do you have a picture of your car Pedro? I'm intrigued what Iceberg coloured wheels look like. :)
Thanks for the info chaps, I'm not going to do them myself but will get the rims done by the pros as I know I'd take forever doing them myself haha.
I quite fancy a really bright silver finish, one with a decent bit of metallic. I know what you mean about the grey finish, silver looks that bit...
I have an Iceberg Silver Clio 172 (2003) which has the original wheels but they are currently a dark anthracite kind of colour. They're a bit kerbed, all be it just round the edges but I'm not keen on the colour. It's not terrible but I don't think it looks that great either.
Just wondered...
Finding my 172 sits around the 30mpg mark although crept up to about 40mpg on a motorway run last weekend.
The Mrs gets about 35mpg in her 133 although on a run down to see her family it worked out at 50mpg which is pretty impressive. I get the same kind of figures in my 133 Gordini.
The 225...
