Well it's certainly less ironic now I've owned one but the perceived build quality is that they are good.
The Lupo I had felt well put together, sturdy seats, nice dash, solid thud when shutting the doors. Just the mechanics were fragile and the electrics weren't perfect either.
I've had 8 Renaults, 4 of which have been RenaultSport models and all have been good cars.
Admittedly I do think a Renault needs to be treated respectfully and carefully. They won't hold up to a really hard life in terms of interior build and their electrics are fragile. I could probably list...
In terms of the engine, I can't see that kind of mileage being a huge problem. Also it's at an age where cambelts and major services should have been done so effectively you could have a few years of minimal servicing.
That said, the wear and tear that would bother me may be on the interior...
Just thought some of you might find this handy : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230842255904?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Just got mine through as I wanted a stand and fancied the one like this that they sell in the Apple stored. Just wasn't prepared to pay £39.99 for one. :S...
Interesting thread, kinda goes to show how the trends in car modifying have changed over the years.
Back in the day it was small car, big rims and huge bumpers. Now it's small car, smaller/wider rims and as low as possible.
Think my favourite was the Porsche rims but the Borbets look great as...
Silicone/rubber case to protect the main body, screen protector and a tablet sock to keep it in. Cost me not even £10.
Sock :
and silicone case :
I wanted something to protect the front and back and that lot cost me under £15 off Ebay.
Totally depends on what you want to be doing with it.
If you're just surfing the web, downloading a few apps etc then 16gb is fine. My Mrs has a 16gb and it's more than enough for her.
I opted for a 64gb model because I want to keep movies on it and music which obviously use a lot of space...
I've often had the thoughts of whether I should sell my 225. It's hardly been used and will probably not see many miles in the future either. Much like your V6, I enjoy detailing and preserving the car as much as driving it.
What you have to look at is how badly you need the money and if what...
I'll certainly have a think about what to go for in terms of cost as obviously a full system would be better.
Tunst : Is that a 3" pipe in that pic? I kinda like the aftermarket look of the pipe being below the bumper rather than cut in.
Well my Clio 172 (MKII) very kindly failed it's MOT today, play in the front ball joints and back box is blowing like a good'un.
So I was thinking I'd get just get a back box made up or ordered for it. Would go for a full system but really don't have the cash at the moment so want it done...
You won't struggle with it mate, you'll probably be refreshed at the simplicity of it. Certainly as a Windows user for so long it's nice to get using something that doesn't faff about haha
Yeah no real benefit to buying directly from them, prices are all the same.
The only thing I found handy when buying my iMac was going in to speak to someone about it but for an iPhone or iPad anywhere will do as they're not exactly complicated. :)
I'd have to pass but I'm sure someone can tell you.
From what I've heard they are good creative tools for music, photography etc but I'm far from any kind of expert.
I've just made the change over from a PC to an iMac and have to say I'm extremely impressed. I had my old PC for about 5 years, it gradually got slower and slower then one day it was dead, looks like a knackered motherboard.
So I took the plunge and went for a Mac, had it about four days now...
One of the guys at work had a copy of the document outlining all of the things that Apple claimed Samnsung had copied.
It was the most pedantic document I have ever seen so I'm not surprised Apple didn't win on all the things they mentioned. That said there are so many innovations Apple have...
Pffft, it's a blokes colour.
The reason for that is that women would look at that and go 'Ooh that's such a boys car' because it's yellow with black rims. Few (non-petrolhead) women would actually pick that colour because it's 'too lairy'. I'd put money on that.
The only thing particularly girly about a Clio is the name, same as the Twingo. Renault have a way of picking pants names for their car.
In every other aspect it's just another small hatch back like a Fiesta, Punto etc are they also deemed as girly? It just so happens RenaultSport are able to...
That's a very good point, this car has 56k on the clock now, bound to have certain parts more worn than if it had just rolled off the production line.
Thanks for moving, I thought I was posting in here intially so was in media by mistake. :)
Thanks. :)
I'm thinking I'll leave the passenger seat, purely so I can cart the Mrs round with me haha.
Fast road/track use is probably a better description of what I'm after. I don't want to be struggling with speed bumps but don't want to be flailing at the first corner.
Thing is I'd still...
Excellent, that's exactly what I was after.
Would you say that list of things still keeps the car useable on the road as well? I want to keep it so it can be used as a runabout as well should I want to pop to the shops in it.
Also with regard to stripping out, I'm guessing just remove the...
No just me not reading properly haha.
But hey I'm not complaining the info is all good. Like I say I'd rather read up and pick things from people's own experience than buy something and wasting money.
Some great info there mate, so effectively a decent set of springs is recommended?
I'm not out for sheer speed but I want it to be enjoyable to drive and obviously be practical for the road as well. Scraping the tarmac wouldn't be ideal.
I'd like to swap out the seats and steering wheel as...
Thanks for the info mate, I haven't done any track driving as yet so sounds like I should probably give this a try first.
To be honest, from my thoughts of driving at any kind of speed on the road it's the tyres and suspension I'd probably consider first.
I just wanted some advise on what is...
Ok so I bought my 172 mega cheap so I'm not as fussy about it as my other cars. I want to make this as purposeful as possible ideally to set it up for track use.
What I was hoping for was some info from those who've done just this and what modifications make the most difference and are worth...
