Out of interest, what spec routers are you lot using with your Apple TVs? I'm finding I can stream video/music directly to my ATV from my iMac which is connected to my router by cable. But I find that streaming anything from my iPad or iPhone via the wi-fi has a habit of stuttering. Ok-ish on...

We opted for a Freeview HD box and a powered aerial which seems to work quite well. The aerial is actually just a black square panel rather than the usual big long telescopic things you can get or the white ring types. Does quite nicely for a bit of TV in the bedroom anyway.

Has anyone got an Apple TV set up at home? I'm wondering whether it's worth me investing as I quite like the idea of having my music/movies available on my TV and hi-fi. Does it just simplify the Mac interface so you can access your movies or is it just simply a transmitter of your computers...

I must admit I wouldn't mind a Mini but wouldn't ditch my iPad 3 for one. Suppose it's a bit overkill buying one as well but must admit the size is very appealing in terms of portability as the full size is rather hefty.

Haven't given it much thought to be honest, will await and see though. Admittedly I rather like how iTunes works. On my old PC I thought it seemed clunky and slow but on my Mac it works really well. Will see what 11 is like.

Well if you can get a mint used one and save yourself £200-300 then go for that, considering it is 'just' a monitor, all be it an awesome one haha.

Strangely the download via iTunes is now saying 80 minutes but my 4 which is just going via wi-fi it seems to be a lot quicker.

You say that but plenty of people do. I mean look at the iPad Mini thread, loads of orders and yet the iPad Mini is more expensive than others on the market. That said, Apple put more time into the build quality, aesthetics and quality of their products than a lot of PC manufacturers.

It is slimmer, and possibly by a decent percentage but the previous model was probably a little over an inch in depth so it's not like comparing a CRT to an LCD. Still, I'd expect a new display to be released alongside the new iMac to be honest or shortly after anyway. Purely so they tie in...

The Apple brand is very snobbish but the 'poor' comments are just a joke. My Mrs bought an iPad 2 not because she's poor because she's a tight ar$e but also wouldn't benefit from the extra cost of the 3. Maybe she's poor after buying me a 64gb 3 for my birthday though! lol

It did the same with me mate and guided me to a white page with two links. Think it was the second one I click, downloaded and ran it, then worked fine. :) Guessing that's the bit that sorts out if it's a 32bit DVD (if that makes sense) and a 64bit application. That's my interpretation anyway haha

I've just used Handbrake to rip a couple of DVDs to my Mac, gone through no problems and play perfectly. Big file sizes but assume I can adjust that somewhere or other. :)

My interpretation of the mini is that it's a 'lite' version, bit like those free apps you download. They do the same thing but they're not quite as good as the full version.
