Noticed at the weekend that the missus two front tyres will need replacing in then next couple of weeks. Couple of questions though....
Its only done 12k, she doesn't drive it hard I sometimes have a 'spirited drive' but never light the front tyres up or rag it etc. Is 12k about right for a...
My 2001 Clio Grande 1.2 was an 8v!!
It was the phase 2 shape but not with the face lift. I believe the face lifted ones were 16v??!?!?!?!? (although I may be wrong)
I have seen a silver 172 Cup, can't recall where I saw it now but only ever seen the one.
I've seen a couple of inferno 182s though and they are rare fook as well.
What do people reckon to the movile dent removers that are about??
Just as I thought my little £600 Clio RT was looking kinda sweet (only had it a week and a bit) it looks like someone has either hit it with a trolly or heavy door.
Fairly big dent so shouldn't leave a crease but has...
Its a total c*nt mate.
Elephant.co.uk did the same to me. Guy scuffed the back of my Megane, I paid for the damage myself then used my legal cover to get the money back. It came back in my favour so got my £350 back and yet they tried to put my policy up by £200!!!
I had a moan and they...
Tell me about it mate haha. I'm from Purley so thankfully not too near that area. I wouldn't fancy leaving my car parked round there for too long either.
For whoever asked further back in the thread, the place I went too is called Renault Spares. Doesn't look like much but the guy is really...
The drivers door seems ok from what I can recall. He had two white Clios there so you've got a choice mate.
Give em a call mate they're on 0208 684 1936 if you get stuck.
Nice one Rich, I may have a go with the hairdryer, if not I'll try that Autoglym stuff.
Its only really two parts of the car that need making look black really.
Its about 5 minutes from Mayday hospital, so make sure you don't get mugged on your way there haha.
I don't reckon they'd be so good for newer Clio parts but for the old skool ones they've got the lot.
I'm thinking I might get a set of mirrors for a Clio and have a go at spraying em myself.
I've just got a 1993 Clio RT, but as you'd imagine some of the black trim has gone a very sh!te shade of grey!!
Apart from back to black, which just makes it a kinda shiny gray. Is there anything else that can be applied to get the trim black again???
Other than nicking parts off a newer...
Had a day off work so thought I'd get some quotes on repairing the bodywork on this Clio I've just bought.
Well to repair the key lock on the passenger door I've been quoted £250-£300 as the metal would need straightening, filling and spraying. For the surface rust it'll be £150 which I...
Hope there isn't much damage mate.
I had a rear end shunt in my Renault 5 which has buckled the boot floor. Would be an insurance write off but thats coz the car is only worth £650.
Guy paid me out in cash for................£800!! lol Get in! haha
Looks good their mate, lovely car like that needs storing somewhere good.
I'm moving out to a relatives place later this year and will have a nice job getting my Megane in the garage there.
Only thing is that its filthly inside the garage. Dunno how you kept your one looking so clean!! lol
I did notice the 4 wheel drive bit as well?? lol
Report him to e-bay if I were you. Don't want someone else getting their pants pulled down by that tosser of a seller.
OK mate, I'll see what I can do.
It just sometimes a bit harder to get it into second or out into 3rd compared to the other gears. I'm hoping its not anything like the gearbox/clutch.
How much is gearbox oil likely to cost me to replace?
Any ideas why the gears would be slightly less smooth going from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd. Or vice versa, seems to mostly be around 2nd gear though.
Doesn't always seem to be a problem, maybe its just me not timing the clutch properly as its on a new car I just got.
Its a 1.4 Cliot RT on a...
Never had that problem with my 5 but then again its was only a 1.4 non turbo. The turbos are renound for heating up quite badly.
I will definitely have another 5 but the Clio will see me through for now anyway. :D
Welding would do me mate haha. Its a £600 car so not paying too much.
Only thing I wanna know is that the steering wheel isn't gonna come off in my hand while I'm driving?????
I'm definitely gonna own another 5, but next time I'm gonna spend a bit more on one and get a GTT or totally restored one.
For the time being this car is pretty good, not as much character but ten times easier to drive and also more reliable. Well I hope so anyway haha.
As some of you may have seen, I recently bought a Mk1 Clio 1.4 as a replacement for my runabout, Renault 5.
This model has power steering but I have to say there is a fair bit of play in the steering wheel. So when driving along it almost feels like the steering wheel isn't connected to the...
Yeah its ok, that is after I spent 4 1/2 hours on it though. Had to T-cut the whole car to bring the pain up to a shine instead of matt finish though. Then carnuba waxed it as well.
Trouble is that it rained and where I've loosened dirt its run black lines down the paint work which I'll need...
Having owned a Clio 1.2 Oasis, then a Clio 1.2 Grande followed by a Clio 172.
I've now come full circle and ended up buying a 1.4 Clio RT. Its a replacement for my Renault 5 which got deliberately written off by some angry driver on Saturday.
He paid for the 5 to be replaced in cash so...
For the cost of a 197 I'd rather have a Meg 225 and thats what I did!!! lol
I'm sure the 197 is a good car, but the 172/182 was an awesome car to drive and taking into account that the 197 is supposed to be the newer, 'better' Clio its gonna get compared.
Sadly it sounds like Renault have...
