I had that, terrible idle, flashing emissions light, cleared itself up under load. It was an injector on mine too. Best get the codes read and see if it points you at a specific cylinder.
I hear conflicting things about the decat pipe - some people say it gives better response and a few more bhp, some say it just improves the responsiveness, some say it does nothing for performance at all.
Everyone agrees it will be noisier :) I'd be surprised if a Milltek with the silencers...
:) Yeah, everything's relative.
We test drove a few Clios when shopping for my wife's and the GT felt like a rocket ship after trying a couple of 1.2s. We'd still have it now had it not been written off.
Yeah it's the same engine as the Twingo.
Performance is..... better than the 1.2 ;)
Seriously though it's no hot hatch but does at least have better shocks on it than the standard cars. Much less roll and better control through the corners.
Interesting, the wife's did that as well, was pissing water all over the engine and I strongly suspect that's what killed the coil packs so early. They went at about 30k miles.....
I'm 6'3" and only have a 32"/regular inside leg measurement so I'm very long in the body. I fit fine with a helmet on now the plastic mounts have been removed from under the standard seat but probably the most important change was replacing the standard steering wheel. The combination of the...
Like the look of those a lot. What else would you have to do to improve the brake cooling, do the wheel arch liners need modifying/removing? Would a bit of ducting be a good idea or would they be OK as-is?
The missus used to have one of those in Black, nice car once we got the coilpacks changed so it would run properly. Always felt it was a good chassis crying out for more power, still fun on the right road though.
Sadly some arsehole parked their van in the back of it and wrote it off :(
If you wanted top money for it then yes it would put me off, if it was priced realistically and the car drove well with plenty of evidence that it had been looked after recently then no I wouldn't care.
I was told as long as the rest of the suspension is in good nick a rear ARB is the single best mod you can do in terms of the improvement for the cost.
Hope it's true, because mine is on the way ;)
That's a 172 cup though, ET 35 on that is only a couple of mm difference from stock, would be 10mm on the 182 which is why I was a bit concerned. I've got my eye on a slightly unusual set in ET40, I'll post back if I get them.
Lovely looking car :)
Ah the infamous yellow peril.
Don't knock the saloons :D
They're lighter and a lot stiffer than the estate with a lower centre of gravity too. They make surprisingly good performance cars with a few mods.
I used to use Russ all the time to work on my T5 and never had a problem with him...
Great, thanks Joe.
I knew what the offset meant, just wasn't sure if I was going to end up fouling the arches.
I may go for coilovers later if I keep this car long term, but again it doesn't sound like I'll have an issue as long as I don't drop it too much.
Cheers,
John
OK I understand the concept of offsets, and I know the 182 Cup runs ET45 as standard.
What I've not been able to find out is if it's going to be a problem if I go to ET35 or ET 40. I'm looking for a set of 15" wheels for track use, probably running 195 width tyres in 55 or 50 profile. The main...
Rebecca looks mature because she's 56 years old :)
If you think she looks good you should see Bonnie/Patricia McPherson these days, incredible.
Great thread, I was a huge KR fan when I was growing up, I don't think it's aged well at all but the car is still an amazing creation and OP your...
Odd question maybe, but here goes.
I've modded a few cars in the past and enjoyed the extra grip and better handling, but sometimes that has come at the expense of fun/involvement.
I'm completely in love with the level of feedback I get from my well worn 182 but I know if I refresh the...
If it's the same as my sound bar the ARC from the TV connects to the HDMI out on the sound bar. I don't use the HDMI in on the sound bar at all, but if I wanted an audio only link to it that's how I'd do it according to the manual. It seems arse-about-face to me, but it does work.
There had already been plenty of comment about the guys size before that, I thought it took away from the central point about his driving, but anyway it's a side issue and only my opinion.
I had an email from MSV yesterday saying they had hopefully brought the marshalling at Bedford back to...
I was there, but I'd left before the incident with the McLaren. He deserves the stick TBH, apart from the personal abuse about his size which is out of order and there's just no need for it.
It was a very busy day and the majority of people were perfectly fine, but there was a huge spread of...
I've got one, had it about a year to eighteen months now and no problems with it at all. I used to use it as a dashcam but my commute is less risky these days so now it's in the Clio for trackdays.
Footage from a recent trackday here, although even at 1080p settings YouTube still drops the...
