When your on finance you dont get a lower spec car or anything like that, you can push em a bit further mate, say that another local renault has offered you a better deal, if they dont lower the price walk out of the showroom, theyll call you for sure :devilish:
i live in the mids mate yes !! that quote sounds quite good, make sure its a brand new column though, as a recon one will f**k up in no time, and theres nothing to stop it happening to the brand new one a few years down the line
either replace the column or weld it up, the choice is yours, in my eyes that weld was strong and wont break as the stresses arent strong enough !! the two pieces are in effect one now !!
You weld it in the middle yes otherwise your steering wheel will be off centre !! What do you mean WHEN ?? have you seen the pics of my weld ? any force my PAS can put on that wont break it !!
IF and i mean IF it were to break when you were going straight then YES the play would be there and...
But when cornering the play isnt there, the play occurs because it moves, then starts to turn the rack, once its moving the rack theres no play because the play has gone, so if the weld broke at 80 when cornering NOTHING would happen !!
Hi mate had EXACTLY the same problem, you have to take off that big casting thats attached to the block !! search for my thread in exterior called something like water pump !! it shows you all the pics etc mate !!
he didnt he quoted his car and they sent him these wheels, he trusted them to send the right wheels !!

plus they dont do the tooras in anything other than 40 and 35, 35 sticks out too much
^^ AGREED ^^ the tooras are funny wheels though, mine are ET 40 too, standard 16v offset is 36 so 4mm sapcers should have worked BUT i needed 8mm to clear the calipers, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, you should be able to send em back tho as they are unfit for use !!
