I'm looking for a thermostat and coolant and was just wondering if there was anywhere online that might be able to get them before i order one into a renault stealer?
GSF only do a pre 98 one according to their website
Just wondering is there any websites you can order service parts for a clio off?
I remember back when I had a 106 gti, I used to get everything off 106parts, is there anything similar for clio's?

Well, the good news is that the clio passed its NCT first time round, but the bad news is that the tester seemingly done some damage while testing it..
Had it up on the ramp at the last section of the test, saw him pushing the wire for the passenger side foglight up into the bumper...
Basically my drivers side front sidelight is refusing to work. Replaced the bulb and fuse and still no joy, connections all look fine. Passenger side is working perfectly.
Any ideas??

After pretty much failing my first college exam of this term, I decided to head for kilcock and cheer myself up by buying the few little bits the clio needed for its nct tomorrow:happy)
All it needed was a drivers side door handle screw and retainer, so that cost all of 1 euro:D...
haha thats the plan my friend. got a spankin new set of toyo proxes fitted this morning, dont mind them pics the car was mankey when i took them;)
and check out my previous post for the short term plans:D
they're not the standard oz f1's:)
my spare is a standard one and it looks fairly different
the ones i have were too polished and shiny for my liking, and i plan on tieing the black wheels a bit better as i go along, painted my rear badges black, lowering 30mm, tinting the back 3 windows...

After a lot of messing around in cars I wasn't really mad about because I didn't think I could insure a 172, I finally got a quote I was happy to pay and snapped up a bargain of a clio. Being a bargain it was a little rough around the edges to start with, but sure thats what gives it...
i used to have a glanza that this was happening with, and my mate used to keep telling me to take my foot off the accelerator before i clutch, i definitely have my foot off the gas when i clutch. It turned out that the clutch was slipping in it, and it needed a new one. Which is what led me to...
Since fitting my group n upper engine mount and powerflex dogbone bushes i've noticed that when driving the car, when i let off the accelerator and press the clutch to change gears the revs jump slightly until i let go of the clutch and accelerate again. Is this an early sign of clutch slip?
No, they're a different design to the ph2 alright, they're the same as the mk1 clios, like this..http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=2517
as far as i know there are two bushes to each end, 4 altogether, and 2 small metal sleeves
Have a set of powerflex dogbone mount bushes here to fit to my ph1 172 with the inline type mount. Just before i start, how do i get the old bushes out??
nope, mine is the later one with no aluminium bonnet or shift light:)
reason i want a carbon one is because my bonet has acquired a dent that cannot be fixed cheaply. works out about the same for me to buy a carbon one as it would to buy a new one and get it sprayed
As was already mentioned, if you're on a tight budget don't bother going near the engine yet, the standard induction system wasn't developed to restrict the car and you're not gonna see much gains until you splash out on the likes of a maxogen kit.
Spend what you have on a good set of discs...
Just booked my ticket and a hotel room in the travel lodge in kettering.
Will be on the frenchcarsireland.com stand, and booked in for 15 minutes track time aswel:cool:
Just asking this more out of interest really. I remember reading somwhere a while back that R19 wishbones and ARB can be swapped over to a 1.8 16v clio to widen the track and make it close to williams spec. What I was wondering was if this can be done with say a 1.2 mk1 clio? Are all subframes...
Am 50/50 on refurbing my wheels in anthracite or black. Was originally all set on rover stone grey, but it seems there are less clios with black wheels lately. Also it works out a lot cheaper to do them in gloss or satin black than anthracite;)
Looking for pics of silver ph1's on black wheels...
not doing the other two just yet, for 3 reasons;
1. I've heard the upper engine mount and dogbone are usually the main culprits of exhaust banging under heavy acceleration
2. I didn't have the money to buy the group n upper gearbox mount when ordering the other 2
3. I don't have my radio code...
I've ordered a group n upper engine mount and powerflex dogbone mount bushes from k-tec and am expecting them hopefully tomorrow at some stage. Plan on fitting them myself, but just want to clear a few things up first..
For the upper engine mount, i loosen the 3 bolts where it connects to the...
My rear wheel bearing is fairly f*cked, to the stage where my rear wheel is wobbling quite a bit. I ordered a set of rear discs with bearings off k-tec but they won't be here til next week some time, so was wondering will I be ok to drive for a while, or am I likely to wreck the hub?
