yeah that was me alright:)
was my first time out aswel, and yeah i found my brakes faded half way through the session, but i'm still on road pads, discs and fluid that have been on the car since long before i bought it.
ordered a set of ferodo ds2500's, brembo high carbons and a litre of motul...
it was planted to the ground through every corner, check out this video and you see it passing 3 cars on the long left curve in the track at about 8 minutes..

Video was taken from a 306 gti-6, I was in the silver ph1 172 a few cars ahead
it was savage quick around the track, and not a bother on it being used all day with little to no breaks between sessions!
any ideas about the blue one? was plastered in streamline carbon stickers, thats all i can remember
I know they're both possibly demo cars or cars tuned by traders, but i'm interested in knowing exactly whats done to them, even just suspension mods, the blue one in particular, as i was impressed by its performance on track at FCS.
Here are the two in question..
Thanks:cool:
cheers dude, was a nice surprise alright, rollers may have been a bit generous but its nice to see its running health anyway:)
Next on the list now is a set of alloy wheels, two of mine are buckled from the previous owner and the wobble is getting on my nerves now
Since changing my shocks and springs, i noticed the handling of the clio was acting a bit off. I assumed it was the alignment being a little bit out and brought it to a mechanic this morning to get it done. Turns out my two front wheels are buckled, and my rear ones are a little off aswel. So i...
From driving my clio over the last few months, i've noticed that there seems to be a pretty bad judder/wobble in the front of the car and through the steering wheel when driving it. It's only noticeable in the steering wheel at about 70+mph, but can feel the car rolling unevenly at low speeds...
I'm just back from french car show, with plenty of ideas now running through my head for my 172. First on the list is a nice exhaust system, but am having trouble finding one i like.
I originally thought about the ktec stealth, but i've always been a big fan of having a bacbox with a visible...

Anyway, spent all morning yesterday fitting my new shocks and springs, took about 2 hours in total with some lunch in between. Wasn't a hard job at all to do. Didin't get a chance to take...
Wasn't a bad trek over, was sitting at 100mph the whole way from holyhead to kettering.

cool, so the top bracket, adjustor, alternator and pas pump all come from the 1.7 volvo? and use the aux belt from the same car? along with the custom pas lines?
the modifying bug has bitten me mate, have started doing bits to the clio getting it ready for summer trackdays and i want to remove...
Just had a quick flick through your project thread there Burp, you say you've used a mount from a laguna and an adjuster from a volvo 440..
What laguna was it from? the 2.0 8v? And then the adjuster from the 2.0 8v 440? Which alternator did you then use?
just done a quick search there, the f3p came in r19's and mk1 clios with the f3r in the 440, laguna and megane. I assume any of these without air con will be similar?
With the volvo setup, is it pretty much a bolt on job or will parts need to be modified in any way? What length belt will i need, the one from a 172 cup fit ok?
Is there any laguna in particular that will provide a similar setup to the cup? Mk1 or Mk2 model? Again is it pretty much a bolt on...
