Going to Ktec on Saturday to get my Exhaust fitted. Going for the Stainless Steel K2 tailpipe. I look forward to waking the neighbours up Sunday morning.
Ive got the Green Panel filter and it has made a slight difference and a very slight increase in induction noise. I fitted the Hill Power Air intake pipe as well amd with the 2 together definately made a performance and induction improvement.
I wouldnt go for the "Group N" part though, as the...
I was thinking of removing my standard air box to bond Tin foil to the engine side of it to reflect the heat away from the the air box when fe fitted.
Any thoughts on this ? surely it must reduce the air temp inside the airbox.
I fitted it myself in about 10 mins.
It fits between the airbox and the thottle assembly. As it has a larger internal diameter than the original so there is less restiction to the air flow. This mean that when you accelerate the engine is able to get more air in with less of a restriction.
I have been looking at the Ktec Coilover set - they said anyore than a 10mm drop needs camber bolts but not everyone on hear has used them and dropped more than 10mm. So I hope to be able to get some feedback from people that have done it and noticed any additional wear.
Thanks for you reply...
How much (mm) can I drop a Cup without having to fit camber bolts ?
My only concern is that of tyre wear on the edges as GSD2s arent that cheap and they are the ones I prefer now. The Cup / 172 is hungry enough on front tyres as it is without adding the additional wear of excessive camber.
Got mine from demon tweaks too (same price). Now fitted the Hill Power Air intake pipe and the green filter has started to perform very nicely now. More torque without a doubt. 2nd & 3rd much different.
Fitted my Hill Power Air intake pipe today. eveyone go and buy one (do I get commission Nick ?)
Gone out for a good blast and it definately helps the engine use my Green Air filter to its full potential.
1st is as uncontrolable as usual, 2nd gear seems better, 3rd pulls much better on the...
my wife uses something very similar........"a hair dryer" !
probably work just as well eg. not at all.
Theory looks sound but in practice it reduces the size of the air intake which will increase air speed but the volume of air getting through would have to be less otherwise why were...
A topic of much debate then.
Mine does it mainly in the wet. The times it has done it in the dry i have been pulling away whilst turning left. Hence the left wheel is light and it bounces (bang, bang, bang !)
LOL !
BenR, since I new what they were on about I thought I would answer with my findings on the above. It did tickle me too that it had been refered to as axle tramp.
Good tecky joke though for those who know
Its here, was waiting for me when I got home last night. I have friday off on holiday to do xmas shopping and have my 12k service.
I think somehow some of the shopping will have to wait as it must be fitted now !!!! cant wait.
if your tyres are nearing replacement you will find it gets worse. Mine was doing it several times a day in the wet about 6 weeks ago. changed tyres and much better now. Just dont floor it in 1st, you can still pull away fairly quickly.
£47 for the new Pipe (hill Power)
The ECU will cope with a viper and a decent exhaust so these sort of mods will be no problem at all for it to cope with.
I was quoted £165 for a 172 as they do not list a service cost for ther CUP - they said they will deduct the cost of parts and labour that dont count, eg:- pollen filter, ABS, Aircon etc
