Got a few things done today.
Door handles were a bit crappy, so sanded them up and gave them a quick lick of paint.
They could probably do with being powdercoated, but they'll do for now.
Dried and fitted:
Windscreen in:
Chrome trim fitted:
Good stuff, there's usually something going on in and around Manchester, so keep your eyes on the area section.
We should be sorting a RR day soon, so it could be good to get your new 172 on a dyno, and see how it's running :)
Left and right rear quarter.
40% of the roof.
Small section on the bootlid behind the BMW badge.
That's all I've found at the moment, naturally my concern is that is might come up elsewhere at a later date.
String to pull the seal in, and then the little bits that didn't quite come through, used a screwdriver.
Very nearly put it through the rear screen!
I do have a proper tool, but I couldn't work out how to use it, and impatience had settled in for the day, I wanted it done!
Haha!
If you could see how tight they are.
As I've just had something colourfully represented to me by Chris, they're "as tight as a Scottish man's wallet."
Shouldn't be going anywhere.
My original target was about 3 1/2 weeks from now.
That's gone, so now the new target is BMW Festival @ Gaydon, and Trax with CS.
I'll probably keep going, get it driveable, then get him to spray it with most of the car finished, essentially a blow over.
I'm not taking it all apart again.
That's the rear quarter/bootlid to start with ;)
I wouldn't know in all honesty, the depth and clarity in the flesh is fantastic, so I'd expect it's okay, it's probably the iPhone camera maybe?
Anyway yeah, everyone keep everything crossed that it's solved without too much pain :)
