Paint is still pending, my fingers are still crossed and I'm still optimistic about the outcome.
In the meantime, I have made some good progress, no photos at the moment, but I did sort the leaking sunroof out, was a very simple fix in the end:
The sunroof seal is only really a weather seal...
Yep, that's exactly my plan, take the headlining out (as it's going to get ruined otherwise) then fit the sunroof as bare metal, and see where it comes in.
As you say, it's all part of the charm of the car :)
Yeah, it's not finished yet, I just couldn't resist cleaning it.
Yeah, no pressure washer, just open hose and some shampoo.
Sunroof pissed in, so I've either missed something, not fitted the seal right, or the seal is a dud.
So, as per title, the car hasn't been touched from a detailing POV since I got it back from the paint shop a few months ago.
Tonight, it got a simple clean, just to freshen it up.
It was also a chance to test how watertight it is, the answer: Not very :(
Sunroof leaks badly, so some...
So I've not used my camera for "taking photos" for a while.
Sounds daft, but all it's been used for is tracking the progress of the car, so it was nice to actually use it!
That said I'm still pretty new to it all, and I kept it in Aperture priority mode, just to keep things simple :o.
Anyway...
Got some work done recently:
Manky wiper arms painted black and fitted to the car, along with the scuttle panel and washer jets:
Also purchased some vehicle dollies. They're really good quality from the looks of it, and make moving the car a lot easier, although the movement is a little...
Basically, last night I stalled the car coming out of Tesco.
I noticed upon restarting the car that the coilpack light was on, and the car had gone into limp mode, 2,500 rpm is pretty much all it will give me, and reduced power/torque too.
I got it home, turned it off and on again, seemed...
Time for some decent progress updates.
Did the dash and heater system tonight.
Dash with vents all fitted:
Heater matrix fitted (car is crying for a clean!):
Dash & heater matrix fitted:
Been a while since I've had the lamps out!
Holiday next week, then I'll hammer it when I come...
