It's got semi decent winter tyres on the rear. It was mildly damp, but not wet this morning, and it was sideways enough.
In the proper wet, I would expect it to be a doddle.
It was a bit of a bargain, most of them at or around this price are not FSH, or poor spec.
That knob looks awesome, I'll have a look after work.
Oh it does go sideways btw, open diff makes things harder, but I've had the back out a couple of times. It's not really a drift car though, more a...
A few photos.
Excuse alert: The car hasn't been detailed yet and is swirl central, I also photographed the worst side, exterior wise. I also have a crap camera that I don't know how to use. I also had to save a child from a burning tiger attack.
The interior:
Loving life in the...
You're still in a very high risk age group.
You also said you've been driving 3 years, but have 1 years NCB, I make the assumption you've had a claim at some point, which could be causing your high premiums.
As Rhys said, it's happened multiple times.
It culminated in me driving into his rear quarter a few months back, and repeatedly tried to push his car sideways.
It's okay, my 500cc shortfall is made up for by my ability to choose when the next gear arrives ;)
Yep, only thing is, I actually quite like this car, so probably won't be crashing into Rhys like I did in the Cliotoris.
Yep, they're very cheap to run, and parts are readily available, buying parts for an E39 is as easy as getting them from Tesco, in comparison to the E21!
What's wrong with a 2.5l straight 6?
I've been running a Renault Clio 1.2 Dynamique for about a year now, it's been pretty much the most ZFG car ever, as I frankly didn't like it to start with.
A year of my abuse and general poor maintenance has left it quite shoddy, and being honest, I can't be arsed fixing it. It's a laugh to...
First up, it's been far too long since our last area meet, so my apologies for that.
I'm thinking Thursday 1st August, at the Paper Mill in Bury.

Usual sort of time, 7:30pm.
Get some food and have a drink or two.
If you...
From a place called Segals Motor Trimmings, just near Renault Manchester.
The carpet is called "Charcoal Schwarz" I swiped the last 2 rolls they had in stock.

Very good bunch of guys in there, very helpful and clearly passionate about what they do. If you...
Absolutely this, a little effort from them, makes a huge difference to me and the project.
It does, but I still don't know if I want to keep the engine, I need to some investigation as I think the headgasket might be on its last legs.
So, as promised, updates from the weekend :)
First up, my new grub screws arrived, meaning I could fit my wing mirrors. I love them, and they're a lovely feature of the car:
After that, we took the brake calipers off, as the hoses need replacing (more on that in a few days).
They were...
Yep, some of them actually turned up while I was working on the car, but nevertheless, they arrived.
Update will be here tonight :)
Ooooohhh, don't tempt me like that!
I'm glad my thread has been of service to you, if not your bank balance ;)
I've not checked that website, so thanks, I'll have a look and see if there is anything on there.
Engine wise, I've been back and forth and back again, M52, F20C, 2.0l Duratec, M10 tuned... the lot! I do like the idea...
Yeah I realise, the stuff has been posted and should be arriving today/tomorrow morning anyway.
Fear not :)
Yeah you bast, not only cheating on it with an ///M3, but the worst ///M3 at that!
Nothing really has been done worth of an update, just little bits and bobs here and there.
As you say, I want to come away from this weekend with a fair amount done.
Fingers crossed everything is delivered in time too.
Got a fair bit done tonight:
Heater control panel, clocks, and lower control panel all fitted and wired in.
Just need a battery now to check it all works!
Should see some good progress this weekend.
I'm not being mugged off, I can handle myself and I know when to draw the line.
He was on holiday for 2 weeks (out of the country) I then went to Spain for a week when he got back, so there's 3 weeks lost through nobody's fault.
The issue on the M3 is different, but granted, it's an issue...
All due respect here, but please, grow up.
I'm not going into details, but he's a busy guy, as am I.
My mate can drive down to the spray booth during working hours, so it's easier for him.
I often find that working with someone, gets you a lot farther in life than fighting with them.
Quite probably, he's very keen to sort my mates car out, and when thinking about it, he can't do mine yet anyway, as it's not driveable.
Next weekend see's a load of my mates and I hitting the car with as many hands and man hours as possible. All hands on deck to give it a big push forward, so...
Long story short, he doesn't want to come after work, I don't want to take time off work to see him.
Push will have to come to shove soon.
More worryingly, he's recently resprayed my mates M3, and that's had an even worse reaction on numerous panels of the car.
That said, I still stand by...
