Re: Valver alternator set up on a ph1 172 wiring issue ( exciter wire , igntion live
you only need to add 1 wire, a switched live. The other wire is already there on the standard alternator. On the mk1 alternator there are 2 terminals with 8mm nuts, these are where you connect to. Can't...
Spax have a limit on the allowed discount resellers are allowed to offer. This is more than that so once spax see it they won't sell to them. Dicks like this ruin it for everyone else. I tried to give a good deal with the absolute maximum allowable discount. Don't know why I bother.
FYI, sparks are normally completely shot at half that mileage. I advise on a 36k interval, but you've done those already. Oil and all filters should be changed every 12k or 12 months, whichever is soonest, so you're about 3 years overdue. Coolant and brake fluid will have degraded . There's also...
They don't make better power, they alter the torque curve. If you make big changes in length you see dramatic changes.

you can get another rocker cover and have the 2 parts align-honed, I've had it done before. Head still has to come off, but it means the head isn't scrap due to a damaged cover
without question the most popular car to take to/round the Nurburgring this year. I sat in the queue outside the track behind 6 of them, and that was just one occasion. Excellent car!
seen loads like that, mine was like that when I bought it.
This is why I hate fitting secondhand engines, it's so unknown especially as they get older. I'd rather rebuild than replace as you at least know what the engine contains
