    197 vs 182?

No. Poor to drive, ergo I waited for the ugly update. I have driven them on track, plenty of times in the 1*2's. the 197 will cost a lot more to run on track. Whilst being no quicker. And less fun. I can't think of why anyone would pick a heavier, slower car as the basis for a track car. End...

    197 vs 182?

Forgetting that A) he's comparing a fwd hot hatch to a powerful rwd car B) you can't have big power without big weight with crazy expense due to use of exotic materials.

    197 vs 182?

God, here we go. A 911 turbo is not a great track car, if it were the gt3 wouldn't exist. Did you track your Clio?

    197 vs 182?

You're nuts, honestly. The brakes are not 'poop'. They fade with track use (any roads car will). But they are not 'poop'. Did you do track days in your clios?

    197 vs 182?

Christ on a bike. I hope you don't breed ;). The 197cup is still a lot heavier than a 172.

    197 vs 182?

Not the point in all honesty. Standard for standard the 182 may be slightly quicker. But it's miles more fun. And miles more interactive. And cheaper to boot. The mk3's are too heavy, end of discussion! Yes the mk3's are better at the day to day, but listening to you guys would make you think a...

    172/182 crap brakes.......

When the 172 was 1st tested by autocar, the braking distance tests were better than the f355 and 993 carerra. They're fine.

video of the r26 on full chat in 3rd gear

So why are you leaving ;). Seriously dude, so many s**t threads. It's not pointless bashing, it's simply a crap video and a crap thread. In the £8k car thread you made some very good, well thought out points, and received no flak as a result. In fact, I think most agreed with you. From what...

    197 vs 182?

Get rid of the 197, you just can't beat physics and it weighs too f**king much! Get a cheap ph1. Chuck some great suspension at it, pads discs and lines. Don't strip the f**k out of it, it'll be unbearable. I'll pm you what I did to mine. Absolutely perfect balance. Not too harsh for road...

    H&R question.

Depends on how many miles they've covered and what condition they are in. I'd say £450-550 roughly. For new price, check somewhere that sells them!

    Clio 182 V Clio 172

All run effectively the same engine (small differences). Do not get a 172/182 if you want plenty of power. They are expensive for small gains. I'd get a CTR or something with boost if engine mods are in the pipeline.

    Clio 182 V Clio 172

Best thing about the 172cup is the standard suspension. I'd say if staying standard, the cup's a good option. If not, get a 172 or non-cup 182 (more suspension options than the cupped car). Having owned most of them, a ph1 172 is the car to get if you're modifying. Cheaper to start with...

Clio 200 - the lack of a jack.

Could be wrong, I thought the jack didn't fit under the lower cup chassis? I've got a jack. I don't think you have to jack it up to use the foam though.

    Mk2 Clio V6 or Mk3 Clio 200

The Vee for me. Not for handling (Ali forgets we aren't all ex-kart racers), the 200 would be quicker on track for 99% of people. More for the fact that it'll have more grunt, sound infinitely better, and has some 'feel'. The 200 drives well, the chassis reacts well etc, but has no feel. None...
