piss easy on a ph1, done one yesterday for the first time
remove 2x torx screws under the steering column cowling to allow you to move the top half (doesnt just pop off like a ph2)
remove 2x torx screws behind the cowling under the dials
remove the torx screw at either side of the dash top where...
undo top mount, undo lower damper bolt, undo drop link, knock hub down to release shock, remove shock.
get some penetrating fluid and soak it the night before if your worried about releasing the shock from the hub but I've never had any issues with them tbh
Saturday was time to fit the wheels. They got the tyres removed, a decent scrub then the new tyres fitted with some fresh valves.
It pissed with rain soon after doing the trim dressing on Friday night so it needs re done, but other than that I'm mega pleased with the results!
I've still to do...
Guy was buying a Hyundai i30 at work that we had up for sale. He wondered if we would give him anything for his Clio to save him the hassle of scrapping it.... we gave him £350 off the Hyundai for it, after a brief look round it I gave my boss £300 and it was mine! Someone came in looking for a...
The throttle response is like nothing I've ever driven, it is genuinely hard to drive for the first few minutes to you recalibrate your right foot! This one on 90 odd k feels nice and tight to drive, goes well. Like most VAG stuff of that era rust on the front wings and suspension components and...
We bought a MK4 R32 golf at work, I had it out on Friday, i was never a fan of them when they were new but now that big capacity NA hatches are no longer a thing, there is something cool about it!
regularly do around 150k on the clutches on our cars so that would be over 250,000 km, of course it all comes down to driving style but they do last a while
Normal, they have a very high bite point which is usually confused as a clutch on the way out. The cable is auto adjusted at the pedal so no adjustment, if its getting stiff it could be worth putting a clutch cable on it. I've had them get creaky
were heated seats even available!? lol I've seen the space in the fuse box but never actually seen one! i had the leccy roof, climate, cabasse, cruise, esp, negative nav though!
campus sport/dynamique/RS 172/182 non cup style will fit:
As will the cup spoiler:
and so will the Trophy/V6 spoiler (if your picky you will want shorter boot struts to stop it catching):
Billy bad boys uploading flash maps from the internet is nothing new but, The certificate is a new one 😂
I'd put money on that having gained 2hp, and that was 3hp from the decat and -1hp from the map
IMO the whole attraction of a 172/182 was that they were cheap fun, i feel when you then introduce a turbo, and the extra heat, strain and running costs that brings with it then its now no longer cheap, and while still fun, and now with even more comedy factor you now have to be a lot more...
