I've just recently fitted a new valeo clutch 400miles ago, but its a fair increase in torque so not sure how it'll last, think I'll just upgrade it to save hassle later on, watched your vid on youtube the other night, looks a nice car, just need ED to get the 20% offer on the go and it'll be...
You got a project thread for a look? Id like to get it done but want it to be 100% reliable, i dont do much miles with the car so don't want to be repairing things when i do take it out, its a good low mileage cup thats wanted for nothing, just need more ponies :)
Evening all,
Looking to go ahead with boost on my 172 as it simply does not have enough grunt unless you drive it hard, was looking at low boost then the plan is to fit a complete megane set up once money/time allows but may be a few years away (babies/houses are my main issues :( knowing quite...
Afternoon,
When fitting a 225 eng & box in to a 172, would the downpipe for a turbo conversion kit from ED fit? or best to get one custom made, i shall be using the standard servo? also who does everyone use to get their custom shafts made, looking for a tried and tested supplier
Thanks again
Nick
We've had some crappy weather recently so its nice to see the coilover covers doing their job properly
Don't suppose you remember the length you ordered on the covers do you?
Thanks
Nick
Can you not fit the outer and inner cv joints to the car without the shafts, and jack it up, then rest it down on its wheels on say four ramps, then you can measure the exact length youll need, you might get away with machining say 5 to 7 mm of each end
The handbrakes on these cars are shocking, everything brake wise on my cup is brand new but the handbrake isn't up to much, its the same design they had on the r5 turbo, and they were very poor also back in the day, they work but not very good
Just use it and maintain it like any other car, life is far to short and you'll likely regret not just having fun with it and worrying about what it will be worth when your 69, get rid of the yellow one and go and enjoy it, that's what it was made for, I just rebuilt the full underside of my...
who's your nearest specialist? whoever they are i'd contact them and explain your situation with the car waiting to be sold, im sure they would help/sort you out, check all pipework for leaks is where i would start, i'd also have someone with a multimeter check the injectors/ fuel pump and...
if the shocks are badly worn then it'll never handle as it should, i would have them all replaced, standard renault cup ones are very cheap for these cars
It most likely will be wear and tear, I fitted the yanoo kit with brass bushes (fast road kit 1) and it feels so much better and precise, its tight once fitted but loosens up after a few miles, think it was around £50/60 quid or so
