common problem, renault replace them under warranty, but they have to replace the full dials, and CAN'T fix your millage, so could look dodgey when it comes to selling up.

the exhausts are crap on them, prone to falling off by 30k, infact some have had exhausts replaced under warranty within the first 5,000 miles!! So the Blueflame exhaust is a good idea. think the stuff thats best for cleaning your engine is called "engine and machine cleaner" by Auto Gleam

na no point doing a conversion when id be scared to push it to hard incase i crash it because my insurance is void!

better ways to spend your money, and tbh you would get more gains stripping it which is free! best way to make 1.2's faster is strip them to save as much weight as possible, sort the suspension and brakes and if you want to touch the engine just optimise the engines breathing with a cat back...

complain to renault, their advice has caused u to kill ur car. if you can do the work yourself just rebuild it, stick a 1.6 bottom end on it. if not replace the full engine.

i know that lol but i find that taking the revs over 5,500 it just dies that much that if you do change up it pulls harder when the next gear comes in than it does in the previous gear so just makes it slower really.

lol well im 18 1yrs ncb..... so 2.0 is probably a no no for less than £3500 a year, but might consider it, will hold off till pay day and see what ive got, might get a 2.0 conversion + coilovers. does the kit come with hubs/brakes?

i cant insure a 2.0 conversion cheply, 1.6 conversion i can insure cheap tho, already had quotes. i could do a 2.0 conversion but a 900kg 1.6 clio pushing 180bhp would be pretty nice, although VERY VERY expensive to get there. as for the hastle, i dont mind, i call it fun rather than hastle...

i used to take mine to 6,000rpm in first then 5,500rpm after that. i find it tends to drop off the power after 5,500/5,600rpm so no point going any higher.
