id put £100 on the head gasket being fine. these engines always have mayo like that under the oil filler cap unless they are driven long runs regularly, its not an issue dont worry about it, clean it off and give it a good motorway run and i bet it doesnt come back until its doing short journeys...
agreed, i genuinely dont dislike the box at all in any way, mine have both felt nice to use, slide in and out of gears no problem and so far ive yet to come across any of these "reliability issues" i guarantee all the issues are caused by wheelspinning and allowing the wheels to tramp under hard...
they arnt bad gearboxes, they dont have issues like some of the other renault boxes JB1 and JB3 dont seem to like going into 2nd gear untill under 30mph, no matter if your blipping or heel and toe'ing or not.
the problem is average joe thinks that to drive fast you MUST change gear like the...
its passengers side, in car fuse box. cant remember what fuse it is but i remember removing it when i was younger in my 1.2 16v to drive with no ABS and being so confused as to why i had no speedo lol

find me a case where one has falen off in 10 minutes? stainless lasts longer than mild, its a fact, renaults exhausts generally dont last as long as some other mild ones however they will last a few years, give power and are light, its not a system like some others where its restricting the engine
anyone know if the 182 uses a different/thicker front ARB than the ph1 172? reason being im replacing the full front end setup on my ph1 to freshen it up and while its off thought i may as well do this if its different
cups are generally more to insure than a normal 172 due to higher accident rate (down to the lack of abs and idiots who cant drive without it?!)
your budget is a bit tight, would get you an awesome ph1 172 though!! plus you would have a faster car with better wheels...
