usually quite common for the wiring to the alternator to snap off or get badly corroded, easy fix luckily!

no doubt some ned will want a set of big wheels for their car, probably punt them on for £150 if they have tread on them, and get yourself a decent set of standard OZ F1 Cup's as fitted to MK1 172's which will make it look 10x better and handle much better, thats before we get to the advantage...

the most mechanical thing i had ever done to a car before i fitted my 182 manifold was changed a wheel. its a pain and a bit niggly but its by no means hard, and i could do one now in about 3-4hours max. EDIT: plus anyone who tells you its not worth doing for the little gain to be had doesnt...

didnt have time to read all 4 pages but you do realise how quick R888's wear? personally for a road car i swear by T1-R's i used to be F1 GSD3's but they got expensive and at £29 a corner for 15" you cant beat T1-R's got PE2's on the 172 but ill probably replace them with T1-R's

flush catches would look better. personally id have left the underside unpainted and painted the full outside so it looked like a normal bonnet untill it was open :D however i can appreciate the work thats gone into that!
