Its the irresistable force meets the immovable object! Show me a standard williams round a track and Im sure you can change the tyres and make it lap faster than the better/original setup and thats all I care about.
PS stan you dont appear to have a car in your profile, is it a williams?
Some people keep the original Michelins and some others change to newer tyres, whatever they prefer. There is no right and wrong tyre just different choices THE END
It may not perform the same I was just wondering better how. I think increased grip is better for an average/road driver as once grip limit is exceeded the car is not in full control.
20 points is very impressive/bad, I racked up a DD40 and it cost me A LOT, 3 points didnt change my insurance though. Got fined 60 quid for 75 in a 60, thought all speeding fines were 60 now?
What are the benefits of 185 tyres over cheaper 195 width tyres, surely we can agree 195s willl give more grip so what do you mean by the original 185 being better, in what way?
Fatboy things will start to go wrong soon..... or maybe you got one of those elusive MINT Williams. Most cars need 100s spent on them to sort wear and tear.
If I had a GTT Clio I would end up with an empty bank account and 200+ bhp. Would be a real Q car though, blowing away unsuspecting BMWs, 172s, etc would be a great laugh.
I think if you can get the a GTT conversion done for around 1-2k I would go for it. BUT there is something special about driving a Williams, its more than a valver with a 2 litre engine. I think buying a Williams would be a better investment than raking thousands into your car. I had to make...
Personally I wouldnt put 17s on a Williams, I bought my car because it has very good handling and performance. I am not totally against modifying a Willams like some people, but I only do mods that improve performance / handling. Would look good lowered but to me thats not what the Williams is...
I have modified my williams and I dont think there is anything wrong with that. As long mods are retricted to engine/performance mods the car is only being improved. Changing the exterior of the car is a no-no in my book, maybe just lowering a touch. I am looking to make my car very fast and I...
Want a Williams interior to go with that engine? 2l in a valver is so stealthy I would be tempted to do chip, head and cams before the engine goes in, that would be rampant.
Turbo conversion a bit expensive I think, throttle bodies would get power down a bit better and would be faster round track IMO. Just need 3k to get them!
Does anyone have the address with postcode of Proclean in Prescot? I need to find out where it is and could get directions off Trader if I had postcode.
Cheers
