dont use a belt sander, as its too aggressive for the plastic. if you do wish to use a sander use something like a black and decker mouse or a random orbital sander as a belt sander will sand strips into it. personally i use wet and dry 120 grit, then work progresivelly up to about 500...
nope. if the offset is ok, which it should be at around 40.
wobbly bolts change it from 4x100, to the punto offset which i forget. is it 4x98 or something, i cant remember. dont see how they'd catch the axle ?
doubt that will make any diff on a 1.2, if on any car. may as well remove them. It will def sound faster due to less 'sound dendening' resulting in louder exhaust noise
yeah the renaultsport and plenham etc. need hammerite, or heat resistant paint - but the engine cover and general plastics in there are fine with well prepped conventional paint.
thanks mate :) The engine cover will get 'warm' nowhere near hot enough to damage any paint work. I've had my cover on for over a year and have had no problems, the sticker hasnt even peeled.
shouldnt have silver door handles! you havent got the cool billabong decals either ;)
the billabong from new was also 500 quid extra, so must paid option on yours
beg to differ edward ;) my car is actually a billabong, and is one insurance group higher as its more desirable also it comes standard with sun roof and air conditioning, 172 spoiler, 172 door handles, silver dash inserts, and silver gear knob.
the aerosol cleaning cans by forte really are a piss of pie to use. spray the can into the car like an air freshener, then leave the air condition running for 10mins. then go to BP as you will have used about £5 of fuel in the driveway lol
yeah. i dont tend to use mine at all during winter, or extremely rarely - so will probably clean it out next summer. one of those little aersols is a good bet though, as they just help to freshen it up and kill any bacteria in there. they're also reallly simple to use.
if its a spring/dampers eibach kit your putting on most people generally recommend a fortnight to a month depending on how far/hard you drive. my koni kit i put on took about 2 months to settle altho i was doing a fair few miles.
mentioned this to my local garage and he recommends cleaning regularly - as its only about 10quid for one of the forte aerosols. better to be safe than sorry.
regassing is 'supposed' to happen around every 3 years, but unless its not performing as well i dont think theres any point. my mate...
