60-65mph on the motorway equals 45mpg in my experience. I find driving fast on the motorway needlessly stressful, and i do reasonably big miles so it saves me a tankful every month by driving like a granny whenever on the M25!

Well, it's more technology than just a straight through pipe at the end of the day. Renault items cost £300+ so paying less for a 'performance' one isn't too bad.

Have recently noticed that when doing low speed moves (under 10mph) the front suspension is making noise. On full lock i get a glassy feeling through the steering...almost like the car is understeering, yet clearly isn't as i'm doing 5mph!

To what speed...? How much power does your Clio actually have then? Even if you're equalling power-to-weight, there is no getting round that they have 100bhp more once you get rolling. I don't get how you can only just pull from Chris's Cup and then say you can beat M3s...

Some people like the supercharger...plus post '04 Minis burble and pop a good 'un. When i first got the 172 i first noticed an induction noise, but i got used to it after a couple of drives, it sounds pretty mundane TBH. I remember when Dansta blasted past me once in his Cup and it sounded...
