I think we've found a remap is a must really, which starts to make the quest for 10bhp a bit expensive really... That's why i think it's best to just get an exhaust for aural pleasure and then spend the rest on tracckdays!

It's always worth checking with your local tyre shop, if you factor in fitting they're normally as cheap if you haggle.

Although the geometry is different to make up for the less keen turn in brought on by wider tyres.

Dealers are ghey. I read a letter in Autocar where a bloke went to Subaru for a service and they quoted £499 so he went elsewhere for £399. He phoned the first place back and they said they'd price match! So basically main dealers are ripping everyone off who doesn't haggle...

My 1.2s driveshaft went so don't be suprised yours has! It's also a weakness for 172s, well the boots are.

I'm not suprised you don't think it feels faster, the Clio is probably only a bit quicker to 60 and a second quicker to 100. Plus the Skoda probably has good in gear times on account of the turbo. The thing about the Clio is you feel very connected, and that is when the character rubs off on...

What's the difference between climate and air con though? I had a 1.216v with air con and a 172 with climate, i can't remember any difference. With both of them you put auto on and all it does is put the fans on full blast!
