2 options..
Drop everything via the subframe, which means disconnecting the harness and clearing it aside, suspension top mounts, steering rods, engine mounts, subframe bolts, cooling system and lifting the car over the top, unless your car is already in the air lol.
Or, disconnect harness...
The oil wont of caused the plug issue.
The gaskets just tend to weep, sometimes the cam carrier does it to......just an inherent problem.
Get a new gasket on now since youve taken the old one off....itll probably snap or peices fall off when you peel it off. Clean the mating faces well...

Up to you mate, 40k on a clutch is fine......unless the previous owner has a fetish for slipping the clutch.

i ran with 20 lbs of N20 in my car on 40 jets and it would be gone if i ran non stop for about erm, dunno now, not used it in a yr or so......
but 5lbs would be gone so quick.

yea, we get a horrible about of hot start problems in HK with the 172, i would say posibly 20% of the 172s weve sold.
Our dealership runs Mobil 1 0w40 on all cars, most dealers just use the one big fat ol oil tank to supply everything.

what part are you looking for?
SOrting the throttle bodies is easy, as is converting it to high pressure fuel supply. I would convert to coil packs and buy a s/h standalone management ECU..........i wouldnt bother with fiddling other OE ECUs.
