only one of each chap, the hardest will be the one under the battery (top box mount) mine took ages with a zip gun to shock the nut off to get it off and yea the top mount support the engine before you take it off
i wouldnt worry mate,it would possibly been the clutch that was the smell, if it drives the same as before then dont worry, though if its really bothering you pop in your local garage and have it a quick once over
choice of 2 things:
the throttle cable , very common, new cable reqd, pm me if you would like to know fitting instructions :)
Or
throttle butterfly slightly sticking, cleaning out the t/b usually fixes this
^^ this is good advise, i hear alot of people blaming the car (ie brakes have boiled,or not enough grip) now while both these do happen i believe you should drive your car not only remembering your limits but the cars as well, a few sighting laps of a track should give you a rough idea of how...
track days are worth it in any car mate, i used to track my mini's, which my first one was basically std (about 50 bhp, with sticky tires) and my 172 only has decent tyres, exhaust and prolines, so most def worth it
This is so true, for example i havent had my abs lock due to hard driving on me for years, but the other morning i was driving to work, in the rain, half asleep, going down a hill when a bmw pulled out in front of me, i hit the brakes and the abs cut in, and i stopped in time, no doubt that if i...
yeah, we cant park on site @ VW as there is no room lol, so we gotta park in greasy joe's, usually £1 per day, iv got parking permit FTW lol
Think when you get a min you could take me out in yours mate? Teg's my 'affordable' dream car lol
true mate, we all tend to talk speedo speed.
but on trhe policeman side of thingas no, but thats why overtaking a policeman on the motorway at a shown 80-85mph doesnt get you pulled, because your not really going that speed
Course chap, im not having a go in the slightest, im just saying speedo'sare not acurate and nor are stop watches, so unless you have pro timing equipment then it cannot be acurate
sorry dude, stop watches are just not acurate, not having a go just stating the facts :) also what did you use to show 100 mph accuratly? as im guessing you know speedo's are not acurate
i am assuming the cup box has shorter ratio's like the ph2 boxes? so assuming it has i guess acelleration will be a bit better? doubt top speed will be effected as i dont think a lightly modded ph1 could pull 7k in top on a std box? mine will pull around 6300rpm ish showing around 140mph, does...
the std clutch will handle that power no probs matey, the ph2 172 and 182 gearboxes take speedo readings from abs rings iirc(i might need correcting on this), so no speedo sensor in the box so there no good, yes you can use a 172 cup box as the speedo works the same as our ph1 boxes
i...
