when i looked at mine mate the exhaust was starting to blow,it looked and felt like it hadnt been polished in a very long time,the n/s window reg had failed,rear licence plate light didnt work etc,little things that made me think twice,but it was hpi clear,it drove perfect,has full mostly...
i just checked when my car was regestered (out of interest really) and mine was reg'd on the 18/05/2001 so i suppose thats gotta be one of the last PH1's reg'd?
na dont fancy coilovers mate,iv had a few sets and i prefere how the car handles now
thing is id rather do the shocks as well as the springs,any u could suggest?

1: do the 172s have batteries in the dash and stereo? i took my battery off for about 3 hours twice,its now bk on and i put the code in the stereo and it hasnt lost any of its channels or settings? same with the dash,my trip,mpg etc all still as they were?
2: i am going to need some new rear...
my old willy engined clio was -35 mm at front and std height at the bk and i still havent found a car that handles as well
thing about the clio cup cars s tho they are built to run only on a flat racing track,not bumpy b and a roads,hence why they handle so well,but any bumps on uneaveness...
have you had the coilovers set up by a pro mate?
i found on my old vr6 that they were crap till they were set up
also remember that the std clio suspension is a very good std and was desighed to soak up all the lumps and bumps in roads matey
