Mild persuasion seems to be the only way to get anyone with and or associated with Renault to actually do anything.
In spite of your issues the general consensus seems the 197's seem to be fairing up a little better than the 172/182's in terms of reliability.
Well done for getting them to...
9/10 accidents from behind will involve insurance action (thus meaning your not putting your hand in your own pocket)
f**k the mini, your okay and so is the other driver, accidents happen, we have all been there
I got drawn into battle a few times with my 172 if im honest but only when the conditions permitted (dry/dual carriage way/slip roads etc)
But i always felt i was being antagonised into it by Mondeo/BMW's never really had a tussle with any other evenly matched hot hatches
Your suggesting that you can put a timeline against suspension rebuild.
Thats the same as saying the tyres will need changed at xxxxx amount of miles or the brake pads will need changed after xxxxx miles, utter nonsense imo.
As for the comment about my mum, grow up mate :)
Yeah thats why i said maybe not actually.
I dont know why Renault decided they needed these mega expensive shocks, lets face it, is it going to have any 10 second advantage over a Phase 1 172 on a track?
I doubt so
???
So let me get this right, there all nearly 5 years old so they need done..?
Where does it say that?
A trophy thats never been near a track and only driven on the motorway with say 18,000 miles on it i wouldnt think would need it.
One with 30,000-45k on it thats done 2 track days a...
It shouldnt in theory fail, but they do need serviced (IIRC @ a cost of £500) Some seem to need it sooner than others but it certainly wouldnt put me off buying one.
