if you only want to change the key then no need to change ecu, uch etc.
to be honest it's a lot to do if you're just being a bit paranoid...what if the person you get the bits from has a spare key, keeps a note of your address and then comes and pinches the car:wink:
so they've had it on auction for a week and haven't even got it yet, wonder if they'd even bought it before the auction started?

that's the guy i get them from, he does one with an inline fuse as well.
you'll need to sort something out with the belt as well as you can't route it normal way without the pas pump in place.
one tip, old rack off, then fit the column, pull the lower boot on the bottom in place and then fit...
dci rack, epas column, motor, ecu, wiring and you can get controller from ebay to save making one.
then change the track rods on the rack for the longer ones and that's about it.
it's an auction car, they haven't done anything other than pull the stickers off the screen, handbrake cable is snapped.
no chance the belts have been done, i foresee a fair bit being spent on it.
and looking at the price i could do you a 172 that's a bit dearer but would be a lot better value...
haven't got mine on yet, took me six months to get my arse into gear to order them!! if you read up on how to set up bike suspension that talks you through preload and sag etc. it's more critical on a bike obviously but a very good feature to have on a car.
