asked about 16v head before, was told wasnt worth it, think i will go 172 route, all depending on insurance may have it given the AWT and GDI treatment before it goes in, cams, inlet manifold, smt6, maybe even throttle body/ies should see over 200bhp then
the rxe is probably only worth £2500-£3000, as its a 1998 R. and would love the stealthness of a 5door 172 :) hopefully will just look like a nicely modified 1.2 when its finished, but then be a LOT faster hehe
how do i get my 1.6 8v it? Not that i can afford to dop anything to it right now, but thats my target figure if i decide to do exstenvive work to my car. Idea behind it is that with that kind of power I should be in the 172/182 leauge as my car would hopefully, still be around 200kg lighter...
think thats you fred, with 5 times as many posts!

:) superb, i'm having my eibachs fitted in the next couple of weeks, and should be getting the wheels fitted around the same kind of time as long as everything goes to plan (Please mr finance company, be nice and say yes)
in the defence of those people that did, a lot of people dont know what the difference will be between the 2 chips other than they are being told that one will give them more power, i know i didnt know any of this untill i started going on car forums.
i thought so, just wondering because they will be wider tires and someone had said larger alloys will make the car slower.
so will having lower profiles tires, light alloys and eibach pro springs fitted make a noticeable difference/improvement to handling?
at the moment i have standard 14" alloys and will be buying some 16" prorace 2's which weigh about 6kg. as these are light wheels will they affect performance at all? increase or decrease acceleration?
